 A fribourgi városi rendőrség szerint a busz Kerzersben, a Fribourg kantonban található városban, mintegy 20 kilométerre a svájci fővárostól, Bernből gyulladt ki.
  
 
 „Jelenleg olyan adatok állnak rendelkezésünkre, amelyek arra utalnak, hogy egy buszban tartózkodó személy szándékosan okozta a tüzet” – mondta Frederic Papaux, a fribourgi rendőrség szóvivője. A rendőrség hozzátette, hogy három sérültet kórházba szállítottak, állapotuk válságos. A mentési művelet során – melyben kilenc mentőautó és egy mentőhelikopter is részt vett – egy mentős is megsérült.
 Papaux elmondta, hogy az utasok pánikba estek és megpróbáltak kimenekülni a lángoló buszból. Azt is mondta, más jármű nem volt érintett az esetben.
 Amikor a meg nem erősített közösségi média-jelentésekről kérdezték, miszerint a buszon utazó egyik személy benzint öntött magára, Papaux azt mondta, nem tudja megerősíteni, hogy benzint használtak-e, és hogy miképpen keletkezett a tűz. A rendőrség azt közölte, hogy vizsgálja a tűz okát.

  Arra a kérdésre, hogy az eset terrorcselekmény lehetett-e, a rendőrség szóvivője sajtótájékoztatón azt válaszolta, hogy még túl korai lenne ezt kijelenteni.
 A svájci Blick című lap egy tanút idézett, aki szerint egy férfi benzint öntött a busz belsejében, majd felgyújtotta magát. A rendőrség szerint hasonló információkat kaptak, de egyelőre nem tudják megerősíteni a beszámolót.
 
 A közösségi médiában keringő képeken és videókon látható, hogy a jármű lángokban áll, és vastag füstoszlop emelkedik az égbe. A tűzoltóság eloltotta a lángokat, de a busz teljesen kiégett.
 A rendőrség nem tudta azonnal megmondani, hány utas volt a buszon, és hogy a buszsofőr is az áldozatok között van-e. Az áldozatok azonosítása folyamatban van.
 
 Guy Parmelin svájci elnök részvétét fejezte ki, és közölte, hogy az esetet vizsgálják. „Megdöbbent és elszomorít, hogy ismét emberek vesztették életüket egy súlyos tűzvészben Svájcban” – jelentette ki az X közösségi oldalán kiadott nyilatkozatában.
 A busz a PostAuto nevű társaság tulajdonában volt, amely főként vidéki területeken üzemeltet menetrend szerinti járatokat.

 Sajnos a lángok megsemmisítették a motor- és csomagteret, az utasteret, valamint a jármű kerekeit.

 A helyszínre a kiérkezett a tűzoltóság. A lángokat 10 perc alatt sikerült lokalizálni, majd további 15 perc elteltével teljesen eloltották a tüzet.
 
 A tűz a busz motorteret és az utasteret teljesen elpusztította, ugyanakkor a tűzoltóknak sikerült megakadályozni, hogy a lángok átterjedjenek a közeli utánfutóra. Személyi sérülés nem történt.
 A tűz keletkezésének okát és a kár mértékét a szakemberek vizsgálják.

 Péntek délután ideiglenesen lezárták a Florida államban, Broward megyében található autópályát, miután teljes terjedelmében égett egy emeletes turistabusz – írja az NBC Miami.
 A rendőrség tájékoztatása szerint körülbelül 50 utas volt a buszon, akiket sikeresen kimenekítettek a tűzből. A balesetben senki nem sérült meg. A tűzoltás után szinte semmi nem maradt a járműből.
 Egy közelben élő férfi arról számolt be, hogy a baleset pillanatában egy hangos csattanást hallott, amibe az egész háza beleremegett. „Olyan volt, mintha bomba robbant volna, akkora füst volt” – idézte fel a helyi lakos 
 Az utasokat buszokkal szállították el a helyszínről. A tűz okát egyelőre még nem állapították meg.
 A szemtanúk mobiltelefonos videókat is készítettek a lángokban álló buszról, és a sűrű fekete füstről, amely teljesen ellepte a környéket.

 Újabb súlyos baleset történt Indiában, ezúttal a gyorsforgalmi úton 7 óra 30 perc körül. 36 utas utazott a privát luxus buszon, amikor hirtelen lángra lobbant a jármű az úton. Gyorsan kellett cselekedniük az utasoknak, mert a tűz egyre csak terjedt.
 Az NDTV azt írja, egyes források szerint egy kiszakadt gumi és egy rövidzárlat okozta a tüzet. A buszvezető hamar reagált, és leszállította az utasokat, mielőtt nagyobb baj történt volna. Ezzel valószínűleg sokak életét mentette meg, majd a hatóságok eloltották a lángokat. A helyszínen készült videók megmutatják, milyen súlyos volt a helyzet, gyakorlatilag teljesen kiégett a busz.
