Az Ukrán Biztonsági Szolgálat (SZBU) közölte, hogy a férfit a dél-ukrajnai Mikolajivban tartóztatták le, miután kiderült, hogy Oroszországnak gyűjtött hírszerzési információkat – írja a Sky News.
A kémnek állítólag az volt a feladata, hogy információkat adjon át az ukrán védelmi erők bevetéséről, valamint az olyan, fegyvereket és lőszereket tartalmazó bázisok helyéről, amelyeket Oroszország rakétacsapásokkal célba vehetne. A kémelhárítás ügynökei leleplezték az orosz ügynököt, mielőtt bármilyen információt továbbíthatott volna.
A kém otthonában tartott házkutatás során előkerült egy mobiltelefon, amelyen Oroszországgal folytatott levelezés volt, valamint fegyverek és lőszerek, amelyeket vizsgálatra küldtek.
