A The Kyiv Independent beszámolója szerint az egyik legsúlyosabb eset a Kahova vízerőmű június 6-i lerombolása, amely hatalmas áradásokat okozott Ukrajna déli részén és nagyszabású humanitárius és környezeti válságot okozott.



Egymillió ukrán vesztette el az ivóvízhez való hozzáférést, az árvíz 80 település 100 ezer lakosát érintette, és 140 ezren maradtak áram nélkül, mivel Oroszország felrobbantotta a gátat – tette hozzá a miniszter.



Kiemelte, hogy mindez a víz és a talaj szennyezésével, az állat- és növényvilág pusztulásával, valamint a Kahovka víztározó kiszáradásával járt.
