„Az RTV épületébe vagy bármely más középületbe való behatolásnak semmi köze a véleménynyilvánítás szabadságához, sőt, éppen e szabadság feletti erőszakot jelenti” – írta az esetről Jansa. Úgy vélte: minden erőfeszítést meg kell tenni annak érdekében, hogy egyforma feltételek mellett, mindig és mindenkor elítéljék és megbüntessék azokat, akik önkényesen, és erőszakosan közterületet sajátítanak ki.
Sajtóhírek szerint a szlovén közszolgálati televízió épülete előtt, Ljubljana központjában már hónapok óta tüntet egy kisebb, populista csoport a kormány járványügyi intézkedései és az oltások ellen. Magukat öntudatos szlovén állampolgárnak nevezik, és korábban a parlament elé is szerveztek demonstrációkat. Egy tucatnyi, sárga mellénybe öltözött tüntetőnek pénteken késő este sikerült bejutnia az RTV épületébe, majd elfoglalták a híradó stúdióját, ahol éppen nem volt adás. A helyszínre később a rendőrség is megérkezett, hogy eltávolítsa a rendbontókat, mivel azok a biztonsági őrök többszöri felszólítására sem voltak hajlandóak távozni.
A szlovén RTV vezetése élesen elítélte a történteket, „megengedhetetlen támadásnak minősítette a média, az újságírás és a demokrácia ellen”. Az esetet a szlovén újságíró szövetség is elítélte, Ales Hojs belügyminiszter pedig Twitter-oldalán bejelentette, hogy az ilyen esetek miatt szigorítani kell a büntetőtörvénykönyv közrend- és köznyugalom megzavarásáról szóló cikkelyét.
