Chris Davis, Humphreys megyei seriff sajtótájékoztatót tartott az ügyben, és ő számolt be arról, hogy több halott és eltűnt van.
A robbanások okát sem tudják egyelőre, és a katasztrófa kivizsgálása napokig eltarthat – tette hozzá.
A robbanásról mindeközben több felvétel is napvilágot látott.
Bár az épületek viszonylag távol helyezkednek el egymástól biztonsági okból, kisebb robbanások ezután is történhetnek. A tűzoltók és a mentők egyelőre nem merik megközelíteni a felrobbant épületet, félve az esetleges további robbanásoktól – mondta.
A nyolc épületből álló lőszerraktár, amelyben robbanószereket is tárolnak, erdővel borított hegyoldalon terül el Bucksnort kisváros közelében, Nashville-től száz kilométerrel délnyugatra.
A létesítmény Accurate Energetic Systems nevű cég tulajdonában van – számolt be az AP hírügynökség. A WTVF tévé jelentette, hogy a robbanások helyszíne feletti légifelvételek tanúsága szerint egy hegytetőn álló épület megsemmisült, és a közelében kiégett gépjárművek láthatók.
Magyar idő szerint péntek este egy sajtótájékoztatón elhangzott, hogy a megye seriffje, Chris Davis közölte, hogy a hatóságok 19 embert keresnek eltűntként (azt viszont nem árulta el, hogy pontosan hány halálos áldozatról tudnak eddig). Elmondása szerint négy vagy öt embert mentettek ki és szállítottak orvosi ellátás céljából egy közeli kórházba.
A BBC szerint a seriff azt mondta, hogy ez „az egyik legdurvább” helyszín, amit valaha láttak.
Közlése szerint az épület gyakorlatilag megsemmisült. „Kérem, gondoljanak ezekre a családokra” – fogalmazott, miközben arra kérte az embereket, hogy imádkozzanak az áldozatokért.
Chris Davis szerint egy „bombaszakértő csapat” már a helyszínen van, és napokig ott is lesznek, valamint több más ügynökség is együttműködik velük, hogy „a lehető legjobb csapatmunkával haladjanak előre”.

Legalább tizenkét ember meghalt és több mint százan megsebesültek egy sor robbanás következtében az Idlíb tartományban található Maaret Misrin városában. A detonációk egy szíriai fegyverraktárban történtek, amely a szélsőséges Turkisztáni Iszlám Párthoz tartozott.
A brit központú Emberi Jogok Szíriai Megfigyelőközpontja (SOHR) szerint csütörtökön több robbanás rázta meg az északnyugat-szíriai Maaret Misrin városát. A detonációk a Turkisztáni Iszlám Párt (TIP) egyik szíriai fegyverraktárában történtek, és legalább tizenkét ember életét követelték, köztük egy nőt és egy gyermeket is. A sebesültek száma meghaladja a száz főt.
A TIP egy dzsihadista csoport, amely főként kínai ujgur harcosokból áll, és évek óta aktív a polgárháború sújtotta Idlíb térségében. A szervezet fegyveresei az egykori szíriai elnök, Bassár el-Aszad rendszere ellen harcoltak a konfliktus kirobbanása óta.
Halálos robbanás a szíriai fegyverraktárban
Az egészségügyi minisztérium hivatalosan egyelőre négy halottról és 116 sebesültről számolt be, ám ez az adat várhatóan emelkedni fog. A hatóságok egyelőre nem közöltek információt arról, mi okozhatta a robbanásokat.
Az AFP hírügynökség által közölt képeken hatalmas fehér füstfelhő látható a város felett, és több gyerek is megsérült az incidensben. A detonációk erejétől több épület is megrongálódott a környéken, és pánik tört ki a helyiek körében.
A robbanások nyomán ismét előtérbe kerültek a kérdések az Idlíb tartományban tevékenykedő fegyveres csoportok és fegyverkészleteik biztonságával kapcsolatban. A régió, amely az utóbbi években az egyik utolsó felkelői fellegvárként működött, továbbra is komoly humanitárius és biztonsági kockázatot jelent.

Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno elnök vizsgálatot jelentette be a robbanások ügyében.
Abderaman Koulamallah külügyminiszter hozzátette, hogy az első vizsgálati eredmények szerint nem történt bűncselekmény.
Beszámolt arról is, hogy számos katonának sikerült elhagynia a helyszínt, és a fegyverek, robbanóanyagok egy részét is időben kimenekítették.
Mahamat Assileck Halata területfejlesztési miniszter közölte, hogy a tüzet körülhatárolták, és a helyzetet már „ellenőrzés alatt tartják”.
A robbanások két órán át hallatszottak az egész fővárosban, és helyszíni jelentések szerint még több kilométerre a helyszíntől is beleremegtek a házak.

A légierő egy lőszerraktárában okoztak robbanásokat a görögországi erdőtüzek Néa Anhialosz tengerparti település mellett, a detonációk hangját kilométerekre hallani lehetett – jelentette a görög közszolgálati televízió.
A Néa Anhialosz-i légitámaszponthoz tartozó hadianyagraktárt és a térségében lévő falvakban időben evakuálták, így sérültekről nincs hír, a közelebb fekvő lakóházak ablakai azonban betörtek. Úgy tudni, hogy ebben a létesítményben tárolták a görög légierő 111. vadászrajának lőszereit és rakétáit.
A tűz a másik oldalról megközelítette Néa Anhialosz lakónegyedeit, órákra le kellett zárni Görögország legforgalmasabb autópályáját, és fennakadások voltak a térségbeli vasúti közlekedésben is. A lángok megfékezésére öt tűzoltórepülőgépet is bevetettek, de a televízió értesülése szerint az oltást nagyban hátráltatják az erős széllökések és a sűrű füst.
Görögország számos erdőtűzzel küzd az idén, a lángok elleni küzdelmet tovább nehezíti a 40 Celsius fokot meghaladó hőhullám és az erős szél. A tűzvész eddig öt ember életét követelte országosan. Ródosz szigetén 10. napja küzdenek a lángokkal.

Lőszerraktárt ért dróntalálat a Krím félszigeten fekvő Dzsankojban hétfőn – közölték helyi illetékesek.
Az orosz légvédelem tizenegy drónt fogott el vagy semlegesített Dzsankoj térségében – mondta el Szergej Akszjonov, az Oroszország által 2014-ben egyoldalúan elcsatolt Krím félsziget vezetője.
Akszjonov szerint Kirovszke körzetben egy lakóépület is megrongálódott a támadásban. A kormányzó hozzátette: biztonsági okokból lezárták a vasúti közlekedést Dzsankojban, és felfüggesztették a közúti közlekedést a települést Szimferopollal összekötő autópályán.
A krími vezető emellett öt kilométeres körzetben elrendelte a térségbeli falvak lakosságának evakuálását. Dzsankoj közelében orosz légi támaszpont található.
Úgy tudni, hogy a támadásban három drón semmisült meg – fűzte hozzá a parancsnokság.

Az Állami Nyomozó Iroda (DBR) munkatársai újabb, több mint tíz tonna lőszert és légvédelmi fegyvereket tartalmazó rejtett orosz lerakatot fedeztek fel a Harkiv megye ukrán ellenőrzés alá visszavett részében, amelyet az orosz katonáknak nem volt idejük magukkal vinni visszavonulásuk során – hozta nyilvánosságra a nyomozóiroda hétfőn.
A közlemény szerint Velikij Burluk település térségében egy erdősávban bukkantak a raktárra, amelyben páncéltörő gránátok, különféle aknák, gránátvetők, nagy robbanóerejű töltetek, különböző kaliberű lőszerek dobozokban, valamint kazettás lőszerek voltak.
A talált fegyverek össztömege az Állami Nyomozó Iroda szerint több mint tíz tonna. Emellett az orosz csapatok otthagytak egy irányított páncéltörő rakétát és egy ZU-23-as típusú légelhárító ágyút is – írta a DBR.
A nyomozóhatóság megjegyezte, hogy hadműveleti információk szerint a fegyverek az orosz hadsereg egyik gépesített lövészezredéhez tartoztak. Hozzáfűzte, hogy az Ukrán Biztonsági Szolgálat (SZBU) lefoglalta az összes fegyvert, és előkészíti azokat átadásra az ukrán fegyveres erők egyik dandárjának.
