Tűz ütött ki egy Ryanair-járaton a mallorcai repülőtéren szombat hajnalban. A fedélzeten tartózkodó utasok közül többen pánikszerűen menekültek: néhányan a repülőgép szárnyán keresztül hagyták el a repülőt, majd a betonjárdára ugrottak – írja a Daily Mail..
Az incidens következtében 18-an szenvedtek kisebb sérüléseket, közülük hat főt kórházba szállítottak.
A regionális sürgősségi szolgálatok szerint három sérültet a palmai Clínica Rotger magánklinikára, három másik utast pedig a Hospital Quironsalud Palmaplanas intézményébe vittek. Az egyelőre nem világos, hogy pontosan milyen jellegű sérüléseket szenvedtek.
A tűz nem sokkal éjfél után keletkezett, a hatóságokhoz 00:36-kor érkezett a riasztás. A helyszínre négy mentőautó, reptéri tűzoltók és a spanyol Civil Gárda egységei vonultak ki.
A repülőgép éppen indulásra készült a palmai repülőtérről, de az úti célját hivatalosan még nem erősítették meg.

A spanyolországi Mallorca szigetén több mint kétszáz végzős diák keveredett tömegverekedésbe, amelyben egy fiatal késszúrást szenvedett.
Az északkeleti tengerparti üdülővárosban, Alcudiában található szállodában és annak környékén kialakult súlyos konfliktus során több mint kétszáz diák csapott össze az éjszaka folyamán. A helyi rendőrség tájékoztatása szerint a szálláshelyen mintegy 2700 spanyol és portugál diák tartózkodott tanulmányaik befejezését ünnepelve.
A történtek után több fiatalt is kórházba szállítottak, közülük az egyik késszúrást szenvedett, azonban a hatóságok megerősítették, hogy sérülése nem életveszélyes. A Diario de Mallorca napilapnak nyilatkozó rendőrtiszt elmondása alapján teljes káosz uralkodott a helyszínen, a rendőri erősítés megérkezése után is komoly nehézségekbe ütközött a tömeg megfékezése.
A hatóságok már a tömeges összecsapást megelőző napokban is több rendbontásról kaptak bejelentést ugyanebből a szállodából. A konfliktus kiváltó okát egyelőre homály fedi, a rendőrség vizsgálatot indított az ügyben.
A húsvéti időszakban Mallorca egyébként is kiemelt turisztikai célpontnak számít, a látogatók száma ilyenkor megközelíti a nyári főszezonban tapasztalt értékeket.

Letartóztattak Mallorcán egy házaspárt, akik tucatnyi ritka és veszélyeztetett macskafélét tenyésztettek, majd adtak el az interneten. A hatóságok szerint a pár része egy állatorvosokból, tenyésztőkből és szállítókból álló globális hálózatnak. Volt olyan macska, amit 60 ezer euróért árultak.
A spanyol hatóságok letartóztattak Mallorcán egy házaspárt, akiket azzal gyanúsítanak, hogy egzotikus macskákat árultak az interneten, köztük olyan védett fajokat, mint a fehér tigris, vagy a ködfoltos párduc. A rendőrök összesen tizenkilenc macskafélét találtak a birtokon, köztük volt egy karakál, két szervál és tizenhat hibrid macskaféle.
A hatóságok szerint a páros része egy globális bűnszervezetben, amelynek tenyésztők, szállítók és állatorvosok a szereplői.
Az eladásra kínált állatok többsége olyan országokból érkezett, mint Oroszország, Fehéroroszország és Ukrajna, hogy az Európai Unióba csempésszék őket – írta a BBC.
Az állatokat Lengyelország fehérorosz határán keresztül csempészték be az EU-ba, majd hamis okmányokkal terjesztették őket – tették hozzá. A házaspár más állatokat is hirdetett a közösségi médián keresztül, köztük hiénákat, sivatagi hiúzokat és pumákat.
Egy ködfoltos leopárdot, egy a Himalájában őshonos állatot is eladásra kínáltak az interneten, amelynek ára 60 ezer euró volt. Az állatokat ideiglenesen a mallorcai Son Servera szafari állatkertben helyezték el. Később egy Alicante melletti mentőközpontba szállítják őket.

A rendőrség közlése szerint mintegy tízezren tüntettek vasárnap a Spanyolországhoz tartozó, az üdülésre vágyók körében közkedvelt Mallorca fővárosában, Palma de Mallorcában a tömegturizmus ellen.
A repülőgépek és turistahajók rögtönzött modelljeivel vonuló tüntetők soraiban „Nem a tömegturizmusra!” és „Állítsátok meg a magánrepülőgépeket!” feliratú transzparensek voltak láthatók – írja az MTI.
Pere Joan Femenía, a vasárnapi tüntetést irányító szervezet, a Kevesebb turizmus, több élet szóvivője a Reuters hírügynökségnek nyilatkozva elmondta, hogy kevesebb turistát szeretnének a szigetükön.
„A tömegturizmus megnehezíti a helybéliek életét, akik nem engedhetik meg maguknak, hogy a saját szigetükön éljenek, mert a turisták szállásai miatt felmennek az ingatlanárak. A turisták megtelítik a strandokat nyáron, és tehertételt jelentenek a közszolgáltatásokra” – sérelmezte Femenía. „Szeretnénk mérsékelni a tömegturizmust, és megtiltani a nem helybéli lakosoknak az ingatlanok vásárlását, azokat évente úgyis csak pár hónapra használják, vagy spekulációs céllal veszik” – tette hozzá.
Tavaly a Mallorcát is magában foglaló Baleár-szigetek volt az egyik legnépszerűbb úti cél Spanyolországban, 14,4 millió turistát vonzva a spanyol statisztikai hivatal adatai szerint. Mindemellett a turizmus adja a szigetek bevételének 45 százalékát.
Az idén a mallorcaihoz hasonló tüntetéseket tartottak már a szintén népszerű idegenforgalmi úti célnak számító Barcelonában, Malagában, illetve a Kanári-szigeteken is. A tiltakozók szerint a turisták „felkergetik” az ingatlanárakat, és ellehetetlenítik a helybéliek megélhetését a városközpontokban.

Heves esőzések bénították meg kedden a Spanyolországhoz tartozó, turisták körében közkedvelt Mallorca szigetének Son Sant Joan nemzetközi repülőterét. A közösségi oldalakon futótűzként terjedtek el a beázott repülőtérről készült felvételek.
A sziget fővárosának, Palma de Mallorcának a légikikötőjében víz csöpögött a mennyezetről, míg az utasszállítók az elárasztott fel- és leszállópályákon rostokolltak.
A vihar lényegében megállított minden tevékenységet Spanyolország harmadik legnagyobb repülőterén, mivel nem lehetett szavatolni a létesítmény biztonságos üzemeltetését – adta hírül az MTI az Aena üzemeltető vállalat közleményét.
Oscar Puente közlekedési miniszter szerint a légikikötőben beüzemelték a vészhelyzeti tervet és ideiglenesen más repülőterekre irányították át a járatokat. A tárcavezető később az X-en közölte, hogy a forgalmat helyreállítják az időjárási viszonyok lecsillapodásával.
Az Aemet spanyol meteorológiai szolgálat szerint a repülőtéren óránként csaknem 50 milliméter csapadékot mértek, bár időnként 90 milliméter is előfordult kevesebb mint egy óra alatt. Noha a sziget sok vidéke szárazon maradt kedden, a fővárosban, Palmában az éves csapadékmennyiség körülbelül egytizedének megfelelő eső hullott.
Az X közösségi oldalon megosztott felvételeken csöpögő plafonokat lehet látni a repülőtér bevásárlórészlegén. Az ablakokon beáramló csapadék miatt a turisták is bőrig áztak, míg a parkolóban kocsik próbáltak dacolni az árral.
Palma de Mallorca repülőterén tavaly rekordszámú, 31,1 millió utast regisztráltak. A festői strandjairól és napos időjárásáról ismert földközi-tengeri sziget Európa egyik legforgalmasabb, különösen német és brit utazók körében kedvelt turisztikai célpontja.
Bécsben a jégeső okozott jelentős károkat
Ahogy az Index beszámolt róla, jelentős károkat okozott a jégeső az Austrian Airlines Bécsbe tartó járatában vasárnap. A 173 utast szállító gép a spanyolországi Mallorcáról tartott haza, amikor viharba keveredett. Az extrém időjárás miatt a gép orra, a pilótafülke ablaka és a burkolata is megsérült.
Emmeley Oakley, a járat egyik utasa az ABC News-nak azt mondta, a gép körülbelül húsz percre volt a leszállástól, amikor hirtelen turbulencia lépett fel. A fedélzeten lévők úgy érezték, mintha kő zúdult volna a gép burkolatára. A rossz időjárás és a károk ellenére a pilótának sikerült biztonságban földet érnie. A légitársaság közleményében azt írta, az incidensben egyetlen utas sem sérült meg.

A mentést végző tűzoltók első értékelése szerint vélhetően az első emelet túlterheltsége okozhatta a tragédiát, amelynek leszakadását követően a földszint is beomlott az alagsorba.
Szemtanúi beszámolók szerint a vízparti Medusa Beach Club nevű vendéglátóhely tele volt vendégekkel, voltak, akik még vacsoráztak, mások viszont már táncolni kezdtek, amikor a szerencsétlenség bekövetkezett.
Az áldozatokat már azonosították, de a hatóságok egyelőre nem hozták nyilvánosságra nemzetiségüket, valamint azt sem, hogy turisták is vannak-e közöttük.
A tragédia miatt háromnapos gyászt rendeltek el a Baleár-szigetek fővárosában, és több párt is bejelentette, hogy felfüggeszti a hivatalosan pénteken kezdődő európai parlamenti választási kampányát.

Mallorcát, amely általában meleg időjárásáról és a napsütéses strandjairól ismert, most hó és hideg sújtja, és a hőmérséklet akár -2 °C-ra is süllyedhet. A sziget északi oldalán a nagy hullámok miatt vörös riasztás van érvényben, a spanyol hatóságok 8 méteres hullámokra figyelmeztetnek.
A hatóságok speciális egységeinek kellett többeket kimenteniük a rendkívüli havazás miatt a szigeten, szerdán. Mallorca északnyugati részén található Sierra de Tramuntana hegyvidéki térségében mintegy másfél méternyi hó esett, és több mint egytucatnyi közút vált teljesen járhatatlanná. A hatóságok több riasztást is kaptak a hótorlasszal elzárt területeken rekedtektől, például egy négytagú családot egy hegyi menedékházból hoztak le helikopterrel. A mentésben és az utak takarításában a csendőrség és a tűzoltóság mellett a spanyol hadsereg vészhelyzeti egysége is részt vesz.
A spanyol meteorológiai szolgálat (Aemet) tájékoztatása szerint a szokatlanul hideg időt a Juliette nevű időjárási front okozza, amely a Baleár-szigetek mellett erőteljes lehűlést, szelet és csapadékot hozott az Ibériai-félsziget jelentős részére. Mínusz 10 Celsius-fok alá csökkent a minimum-hőmérséklet Lérida, Teruel, Guadalajara, Cuenca, Ávila, Segovia, Soria és Zamora városokban. Havazás miatti figyelmeztetést adtak ki Asztúria, Kantábria, Kasztília és León, Baszkföld, valamint Navarra tartományokban.
A spanyol meteorológiai szolgálat a Juliette vihar miatt Spanyolország 30 régiójára időjárási figyelmeztetést adott ki.

Letartóztattak Mallorcán egy férfit, amiért a vád szerint 22 embert fertőzött meg koronavírussal, miközben munkába és edzőterembe járt, annak ellenére, hogy a betegség jeleit mutatta – számol be a hírről a The Guardian.
A spanyol sziget hatóságai január végén kezdtek vizsgálódni az ügyben a Manacorban megnövekvő nagy számú fertőzések miatt azt követően, hogy a tudomásukra jutott, hogy egy alkalmazott koronavírusos lett, de eltitkolta a betegségét.
Már a nagy fertőzésszámok előtt a koronavírus tüneteit produkálta az illető, amivel aggodalmat váltott ki a kollégái körében, de nem akart hazamenni a munkából. A nap végére elment PCR-tesztet csináltatni, de nem várva meg annak eredményét, másnap ismét bement dolgozni és a helyi edzőterembe is ellátogatott.
A munkahelyén a vezetője és a kollégái is ara kérték, hogy menjen haza, mert másokat is könnyen megfertőzhet, és mint kiderült, akkor már 40 fokos láza is volt. Az illető azonban nem törődött a kollégái kérésével, újabb napot töltött el a munkahelyén, sőt, szándékosan lejjebb húzta a maszkját, amikor köhögnie kellett és azt mondogatta, hogy most mindenkit megfertőz koronavírussal.
Mire a PCR-tesztje megérkezett a nap végére, ami nem meglepő módon pozitív lett, a kollégái már igen aggódtak saját egészségük miatt. Ők szintén tesztet csináltattak, közülük ötnek lett pozitív a tesztje, ezek az emberek pedig számos más családtagjukat is megfertőzték a vírussal, köztük három egyéves csecsemőt is.
Az edzőteremben hárman fertőződtek meg azok közül, kik közvetlen kontaktusba kerültek a fertőzöttel, ők ugyancsak megfertőzték saját családtagjaikat.
A rendőrség közleménye szerint a férfi „akciója” 22 koronavírusos továbbfertőzést okozott, szerencsére azonban egyik esetben sem volt kórházi ápolásra szükség. A férfit bántalmazás gyanúja miatt letartóztatták.
