Leszakadt egy metrófelüljáró hétfő este Mexikóvárosban, legalább tizenöten meghaltak, körülbelül hetvenen megsérültek.
A leomlott híd maga alá temetett több autót, a mentési munkálatokban a tűzoltóság is részt vesz. A helyszínre érkezett a város polgármestere, Claudia Sheinbaum is, aki azt mondta, több mint 30 embert szállítottak kórházba.
A katasztrófavédelem részéről azt közölték, hogy az áldozatok száma várhatóan nőni fog.
A televízióban bemutatott, illetve a közösségi médiára feltöltött képsorokon azt látszik, hogy
több metrókocsi az öt méter magas felüljáróról lóg, onnan a tűzoltók létrák segítségével igyekeztek kiszabadítani az embereket, később pedig egy darut is beállítottak.
Sheinbaum hozzátette: egyelőre nem tudni, hogy a bent rekedtek közül mindenki életben van-e.
A szerencsétlenség a 12-es metróvonalon történt, amelynek építése során korábban több, szabálytalanságokról beszámoló panasz érkezett a hatóságokhoz.
Marcelo Ebrard mexikói külügyminiszter – aki a vonal építése idején a főváros polgármestere volt – a Twitteren szörnyű tragédiának nevezte a balesetet, valamint leszögezte: ki kell vizsgálni a szerencsétlenség okát, és meg kell találni a felelősöket. „Mindenben állok a hatóságok rendelkezésére” – tette hozzá.
