 A beszámoló szerint a legtöbb áldozatot a Szagaing régióban lévő Mjinmu településen található két buddhista kolostorban lőtték agyon.
  
 
 „Kora reggel váratlanul megtámadták a falut. Néhány civil a katonáktól való félelmében a kolostorba menekült, őket megölték” – mondta a dpa német hírügynökségnek a juntával szembenálló helyi védelmi erők egyik képviselője.
 A támadás az után történt, hogy csütörtökön a katonai junta légicsapásában 16 ember vesztette életét egy közép-mianmari buddhista kolostorban.
 Mianmarban a katonaság a 2021 februári puccs óta erőszakkal igyekszik elfojtani minden ellenállást. Legutóbb április végén legalább négy ember meghalt és többen megsebesültek egy légicsapásban, amely egy lázadók által ellenőrzött területet ért az indiai határon. A bombák egy kórházat értek a Csin államban található Mindat városában.
 Az Institute for Strategy and Policy – Myanmar nevű független kutatóintézet szerint a junta csapatai már több mint 20 mészárlást hajtottak végre a lakosság ellen. A jelentés szerint 2021 februárja és 2023 októbere között összesen több mint ötszáz embert, köztük gyerekeket és időseket öltek meg ezekben a támadásokban.
