Az izraeli Hamász-háború október 7-i kezdete óta megszaporodtak az antiszemita támadások Németországban és máshol.
Gyújtószerkezetet dobtak egy zsinagóga ajtajára pénteken Németország északnyugati részén, de csak kisebb károkat okozott – közölte a rendőrség.
Az Oldenburg városában történt incidens pénteken kora délután történt. Az eszköz okozta tüzet gyorsan észlelték, nem terjedt tovább, a tűzoltóságnak nem volt szüksége az oltásra.
Az épületben akkor nem történt esemény, senki sem sérült meg.
A rendőrség azt közölte, hogy keresik az elkövetőt, de az indítékról nincs információjuk.
Andreas Sagehorn, az oldenburgi rendőrigazgatóság elnöke „a lehető leghatározottabban” elítélte a támadást.
„A rendőrség mindent megtesz annak érdekében, hogy tisztázza ennek a gyáva tettnek a hátterét és azonosítsa az elkövetőket” – áll a közleményben. „Ezt a támadást lehetőségként fogjuk fel arra, hogy haladéktalanul fokozzuk a biztonsági intézkedéseket az oldenburgi zsinagógánál, amíg a bűncselekmény körülményeit nem tisztázzák.”
Sok más országhoz hasonlóan Németországban is jelentősen megnőtt a zsidóellenes incidensek száma a Hamász Izrael elleni októberi támadása és Izrael ezt követő gázai támadásai után.
Az elmúlt években azonban számos antiszemita incidenst és támadást indítottak német szélsőjobboldali csoportok.

Újabb újságírót ért támadás Hollandiában, ismeretlen elkövetők szerdán este egy vagy több gyújtópalackot dobtak Willem Groeneveld groningeni otthonába az épület ablakán keresztül – közölte csütörtökön a holland rendőrség.
A tájékoztatás szerint Groeneveldnek és élettársának sikerült a tüzet időben eloltania. Groeneveld a Sikkom nevű városi hírportálnak dolgozik és munkássága miatt korábban is megpróbálták már megfélemlíteni. Sajtóértesülések szerint két évvel korábban kövekkel dobták be otthona ablakait, mert több cikkben is pellengérre állította a háztulajdonosokat a szegényebb városrészekben. A múlt héten a Villamedia újságírói portálnak elmondta, hogy résen kell lennie, amikor a városban jár.
Peter R. de Vries meggyilkolása nyomán rövid időn belül ez már a második támadás holland újságírók ellen – hívta fel a figyelmet Thomas Bruning, a holland újságírói szövetség főtitkára az ANP helyi hírügynökségnek nyilatkozva.
