Több mint 7200 illegális bevándorlót azonosítottak és ötven embercsempészt vettek őrizetbe és az illetékes hatóságok egy, több európai uniós tagállam és balkáni ország bevonásával végzett egyhetes nemzetközi művelet során – közölte a Frontex csütörtökön.
Az Európai Unió határ- és partvédelmi ügynökségének tájékoztatása szerint az akció az embercsempészet, az emberkereskedelem és a hamisított iratokkal elkövetett csalás felszámolására összpontosított.
Ötven embercsempészt állítottak elő, 7248 érintett bevándorlót azonosítottak, továbbá 83 hamis személyi okmányt és 17 lopott gépjárművet foglaltak le. Emellett 20 ezer, dokumentum nélküli orvosi arcmaszkot találtak az illetékes hatóságok.
A Bécsben létrehozott operatív csoport által koordinált műveletben Ausztria mellett Lengyelország, Magyarország, Szlovákia, Olaszország, Szlovénia, Horvátország, Románia, Bulgária, Görögország, Szerbia, Bosznia-Hercegovina, Észak-Macedónia Köztársaság, Montenegró és Albánia hatóságai vettek részt – áll a varsói székhelyű európai uniós ügynökség közleményében.
