Szomorú statisztikát közölt az ENSZ: 2021-ben minden órában több mint öt nőt vagy lánygyereket gyilkolt meg saját családtagja, ez összesen nagyjából 45 ezer nőt jelent az egész évre levetítve.
A Guardian azt írja, a tavalyi év során összesen 81 100 nőt öltek meg, tehát ennek több mint a fele (56 százalék) családon belül elkövetett erőszak áldozata lett.
Az ENSZ szerint a számok riasztóan magasak, de a nőgyilkosságok – vagyis azon gyilkosságok, amelyeknél a kiváltó ok egész egyszerűen az, hogy az áldozat nő – valós száma valószínűleg még ennél is sokkal magasabb. 2021-ben tíz halálesetből nagyjából négyet nem számítottak nőgyilkosságnak, mert nem állt rendelkezésre elegendő adat. A nőgyilkosságra vonatkozó hivatalos adatok nagyjából változatlanok maradtak az elmúlt évtizedben.
Tavaly Ázsiában történt a legtöbb családon belüli nőgyilkosság, itt a statisztikák szerint 17 800 nőt gyilkoltak meg így. A kutatás azonban kimutatta, hogy Afrikában a nőket és a lányokat nagyobb veszély fenyegeti abban, hogy családtagjaik öljék meg őket. A nemi hovatartozással összefüggő családon belüli gyilkosságok arányát Afrikában 100 ezer nőre vetítve 2,5-re becsülték, míg Amerikában ez a szám 1,4, Óceániában 1,2, Ázsiában 0,8, Európában pedig 0,6.
A kutatás szerint a koronavírus-járvány kitörése 2020-ban egybeesett a nőgyilkosságok számának jelentős növekedésével Észak-Amerikában, valamint Nyugat- és Dél-Európában.
Európa és Amerika 25 országából származó adatok azt mutatják, hogy a növekedés nagyrészt a férjeken és partnereken kívüli más családtagok által elkövetett gyilkosságok miatt következett be.
Átfogó és pontos adatokat kell gyűjteni a nőgyilkosságról, és a statisztikáknak tartalmazniuk kell az erőszak egyéb formáiból eredő haláleseteket is, idézi a Guardian Bárbara Jiménez-Santiago emberi jogi ügyvédet, az Equality Now nemzetközi nőjogi szervezet amerikai regionális koordinátorát. Ebbe a kategóriába tartozik például az a nő, aki nemi erőszak után öngyilkos lesz, vagy az a lány, aki nemi erőszak miatt teherbe esik, majd meghal a szülés során.
„A családon belüli erőszakot a világ egyes részein még mindig magánügynek, családi ügynek tekintik – mondta. – A rendőrség és az ügyészség gyakran nem veszi komolyan az eseteket, és az áldozatok hibáztatása széles körben elterjedt. Ez visszatartja a nőket és a lányokat attól, hogy jelentsék a jogsértéseket. Az elkövetők büntetlenül maradnak, és ez állandósítja a további visszaéléseket.”

Az elkövető rögtön elmenekült a helyszínről, de a rendőrség hamar beazonosította és őrizetbe vette. A 23 éves férfi ellen szombaton emberölési kísérlet miatt emelt vádat a bíróság. A francia állampolgárságú férfi indítékai pedig egyelőre nem ismertek. A bíróság döntése alapján most pszichiáter vizsgálja, hogy milyen mentális állapotban van a fiatalember.

Egy szemtanú szerint a férfi hozzá is közeledett és úgy érezte, a férfi igyekszik belökni őt a sínekre. Neki végül sikerült elsétálnia, ám visszanézve látta, ahogy a férfi belök egy másik nőt a szerelvény elé. A gyanúsított nevét egyelőre nem közölték, de annyit igen, hogy van bűnügyi előélete, jelenleg is feltételesen volt szabadlábon.
