Megnyitották a légoltalmi óvóhelyeket számos kínai városban, hogy a kánikula elől menedéket keresőknek enyhülést nyújtsanak, mivel az utóbbi napokban az extrém hőség az ország egyes részein emberéleteket is követelt már.
A kínai Nemzeti Éghajlati Központ e heti közleménye szerint Pekingben kilenc egymást követő napon haladta meg a hőmérséklet 35 Celsius-fokot, ami utoljára 1961-ben fordult elő.
A napokban Hangcsouban, Vuhanban, és Sicsiacsuangban is megnyitották az óvóhelyeket, hogy menedéket nyújtsanak a hőség elől a lakosságnak. A hatóságok a hőhullám miatt egészségügyi riasztást is kiadtak, és Pekingben, valamint az ország más hőség sújtotta területén is felfüggesztették a szabadban végzett munkákat.
A helyi hatóságok szerint Pekingben eddig két halálos áldozata volt a hőségnek.
Saohszing egészségügyi hatóságai a pontos szám megjelölése nélkül szintén több halálesetről számoltak be.
A kínai városokban még a japán invázió idején, 1937-től kezdődött el a légoltalmi óvóhelyek építése. Az óvóhelyek kialakítása az ötvenes években is folytatódott egy esetleges atomtámadásra készülve, mikor Kína és a Szovjetunió viszonya megromlott.
Az óvóhelyeken le lehet ülni, biztosítják a vizet, a hőguta elleni gyógyszereket, néhol wifit és televíziót is.
Míg Kína északi részén pusztító hőség és aszály fenyeget, az ország déli részén az áradások miatt sok ezer embernek kellett elhagynia lakóhelyét.
A héten már többször megdőlt a Föld globális átlaghőmérsékletének napi rekordja.

A jelentés szerint Klimenko azt írta: „Legalább 10 zárt óvóhelyről kaptunk információt Lembergből az éjszakai rakétatámadás során. A helyzet felháborító. Pedig annyi figyelmeztetés, követelmény, szigorú döntés volt. És néhány felelős személy mégsem vonta le a következtetést.”
A Lemberg megyei rendőrség már megindította a büntetőeljárást a büntetőtörvénykönyv 135. cikkelyének 1. része alapján (cserben hagyás veszélyhelyzetben). Ihor Klimenko megjegyezte, hogy a bűnösöket bíróság elé kell állítani.
Az éjszakai légiriadó idején az orosz hadsereg cirkálórakétákkal támadta Lemberget. 10 Kalibr rakétát lőttek ki, ebből hetet az ukrán légvédelmi erők lelőttek. A támadás következtében öten meghaltak, 37-en megsérültek. A városban egy kritikus infrastrukturális objektumban, 35 lakóházban és 50 autóban keletkezett kár.

A Kárpátaljai Megyei Katonai Adminisztráció döntése értelmében február 28-án 18:00 Munkácson és Ungváron próba légiriadó lesz. Az intézkedés célja – felmérni az óvóhelyek és a lakosság számára biztonságot nyújtó egyéb helyiségek számát.

Felhívom a lakosság figyelmét. Megértéssel fogadják az intézkedést. Ungváron és Munkácson 18 órakor be lesz kapcsolva a légiriadó szirénája. Mindenki, hangsúlyozom nyugodtan, el kell hogy hagyja az épületet a gyermekeivel együtt, és el kell menjen a legközelebbi óvóhelyhez. Aki tudja, hogy a közelben nincs óvóhely, az lemegy az épület pincéjébe. Azon épületek lakói, amelyekben nincs pincehelyiség, azok más helyeket keresnek, hogy elbújhassanak. Aki ilyen helyet nem talált, az értesíti a lakóközösség képviselőjét. Ungvár és Munkács polgármesterei begyűjtik és elemzik ezeket az adatokat és kidolgozzák a menekülési útvonalakat egy esetleges légiriadó esetére.
