Legkevesebb kilenc ember életét vesztette Guineában abban a szombati incidensben, amelynek során fegyveresek megrohamoztak egy börtönt, és rövid időre kiszabadították onnan a nyugat-afrikai országot irányító junta egykori vezetőjét – közölte hétfőn a guineai igazságügyi minisztérium.
Moussa Dadis Camara, aki 2008 és 2010 között állt a junta élén, egy 2009-es tüntetés brutális vérbe fojtása miatt van őrizetben. Szombat hajnalban fegyveresek kiszabadították a börtönből három társával együtt. A hatóságok nagy erőkkel kutatni kezdtek a szökevények után, és néhány órán belül el is fogták a junta egykori vezetőjét, akit a nap végére vissza is szállítottak a börtönbe Conakryban.
Az igazságügyi minisztérium tájékoztatása szerint kilenc holttestet találtak a véres incidens után, az akcióban három támadó, négy katona és még két ember halt meg. Hat ember megsebesült, őket kórházban ápolják.
Moussa Dadis Camara 2008-ban került hatalomra Guineában katonai államcsínyt követően. Az országot 2010-ig irányította a junta élén, majd 2021-ig emigrációban élt. Tavaly szeptemberben vették őrizetbe és állították bíróság elé a 2009-ben a főváros, Conakry stadionjában elkövetett mészárlás miatt, amelynek során a katonák – 157 embert megölve – vérbe fojtottak egy tüntetést.
