Az izraeli hadsereg hivatalosan törvényen kívülinek minősítette vasárnap azt a hat palesztin jogvédő csoportot, amelyeket Beni Ganz védelmi miniszter októberben már terrorszervezetnek nyilvánított – jelentette vasárnap a The Times of Israel című angol nyelvű hírportál.
A katonai jogban a törvényen kívüliség felel meg a terrorszervezetté nyilvánításnak. Izrael fenntartja, hogy a hat megbélyegzett civil szervezet a Palesztin Felszabadítási Szervezet (PFSZ) erőszakos múlttal rendelkező egyik kisebb frakcióját, a Népi Front Palesztina Felszabadításáért (PFLP) szolgálta, bár ezt az érintett csoportok cáfolják. Ganz lépését számos izraeli és nemzetközi bírálat érte. Annak, hogy a múlt hónapban Ganz a Terrorelhárítási Iroda döntése alapján terrorista szervezeteknek nyilvánította őket, eddig viszonylag csekély közvetlen hatása volt, tovább működhettek törvényes keretek között, mert Ciszjordániában és így hivatalosan Izrael joghatóságán kívül tevékenykednek. Mostantól viszont Izrael hivatalosan eljárhat a hat palesztin szervezet, a Bisan Kutatási és Fejlesztési Központ, a palesztin bebörtönzötteket támogató Addameer emberi jogi csoport, a Palesztin-Nemzetközi Védelem a Gyermekekért, a palesztin területeken történt jogsértéseket dokumentáló Al-Hak, a Palesztin Női Bizottságok Uniója és a Mezőgazdasági Munkabizottságok Uniója ellen. Az 1967-ben elfoglalt területek katonai közigazgatását végző izraeli katonai parancsnokság vezetője hivatalos jogi felhatalmazással rendelkezik a Jordániától elfoglalt Ciszjordánia felett, és döntése alapján már bezárhatják a civil csoportok irodáit, és letartóztathatják tagjaikat. A hadsereg illetékesének indoklása szerint bőséges, változatos és megbízható információkkal rendelkezett arról, hogy a PFLP nevű palesztin terrorcsoport egyik szárnyát képviselték. Korábban a Háárec című újságnak egy meg nem nevezett biztonsági tisztségviselő azt mondta, hogy legfőképp azért minősítették terrorszervezetté e palesztin civil csoportokat, hogy ezzel megakadályozzák adománygyűjtésüket. Izrael az elmúlt hetekben az Egyesült Államok kormányával is konfliktusba került a döntés miatt, ugyanis Washington azt állította, hogy nem értesítették előzetesen a lépésről.

A görög parlament csütörtökön este a felsőoktatási törvény reformja keretében elfogadta azt a vitatott szabályozást, amelynek értelmében különleges rendőri erőt állítanának fel az egyetemi campusokon. A 300 tagú törvényhozásban 166 képviselő szavazott a törvényre 132 ellenében.
A koronavírus-járvány nyomán bevezetett gyülekezési korlátozások ellenére csütörtökön már második napja ezrek vonultak az utcára a felsőoktatási törvény reformja ellen, amely szerintük fenyegeti a görög katonai diktatúrát (1967-1974) követő években bevezetett egyetemi szabadságot.
Kiriákosz Micotákisz görög miniszterelnök szerint a reformok végre véget fognak vetni a görög egyetemi campokon uralkodó törvénytelenségnek. Sehol máshol a világon nem látni… a történelmi épületek megrongálását és kifosztását – hangoztatta Micotákisz a szavazás előtt az utóbbi évek számtalan incidensére utalva, amelyek során önjelölt anarchista csoportok kárt okozva betörtek a campusokra.
A rendőri erő alkalmazása az egyetemek területén kényes kérdésnek számít a katonai diktatúra után.
A Junta bukásában szerepet játszó 1973-as diáklázadás során ugyanis egy harckocsi áttörte a Műszaki Egyetem kapuját, megölve több hallgatót.
A szabályozás ellenzői úgy vélekednek, hogy az állami egyetemek a rendőrség bevonása helyett inkább bővíthetnék a biztonsági személyzetet, vagy egyéb óvintézkedéseket vezethetnének be.
A diákszervezetek szerint a konzervatív görög kormány ilyen módon akarja ellenőrzése alá vonni az egyetemi életet.
A csütörtökön elfogadott törvény a fentieken túl korlátozza a tanulmányi idő hosszát is. A jövőben eltanácsolják azokat a hallgatókat, akik túllépik a rendes tanulmányi idő másfélszeresét. Kivételeket a szabályozás abban az esetben enged, ha a diákok bizonyítani tudják, hogy tanulmányaik mellett dolgoznak. A görög sajtó szerint az intézkedés 235 ezer hallgatót érinthet.
