A Benjamin Netanjahu kormánya elleni heti tiltakozások során a túszok rokonai és támogatóik azt mondták, hogy már régen eljött a pillanat, hogy leüljenek és tárgyaljanak a megállapodásról.
Tiltakozók ezrei vonultak Tel-Aviv utcáira, hogy Benjámin Netanjahu miniszterelnököt követeljék a még Gázában fogva tartott izraeli túszok szabadon bocsátásáról szóló megállapodás aláírásával.
A Netanjahu kormánya elleni heti tiltakozások során a túszok hozzátartozói és támogatóik azt mondták, hogy már régen le kell ülni és tárgyalni a megállapodásról.
„Azt akarom, hogy a túszokat szabadon engedjék. Van egy túszelengedési megállapodás, amely tavaly október 7-e óta van terítéken. Netanjahunak alá kell írnia ezt az egyezményt, és akkor a többi a helyére kerül. De a létező túszszabadítási megállapodásnak ma írják alá” – mondta az egyik tüntető, Gal Sne.
Az egyik legkorábbi javaslatot a túszok szabadon bocsátására vonatkozó megállapodásra 2023. október 12-én terjesztették elő, öt nappal a Hamász első támadása után.
Egyiptomi tisztviselők szerint a Hamász és más palesztin fegyveresek által Gázában fogva tartott összes nő és gyermek szabadon bocsátására szólított fel, cserébe az izraeli börtönökben lévő összes palesztin nő szabadon bocsátásáért.
Az izraeliek elutasították ezt a javaslatot.
A Hamász 17 túszt engedett szabadon cserébe 39 palesztinért, akit az ellenségeskedések tavaly novemberi átmeneti leállítása során tartottak izraeli börtönökben.
Izrael és a Hamász ellenállást tanúsított a gázai háború befejezésével szemben, miután meggyilkolták a Hamász vezetőjét, Yahya Sinwart, az Izrael elleni rajtaütés fő tervezőjét, amely több mint egy évvel ezelőtt 1200 embert, főként civileket ölt meg, és további 250-et elrabolt.
Ellentétes követelések
Az Egyesült Államok, Egyiptom és Katar által közvetített fegyverszüneti tárgyalások leállítása hetek óta akadozik, de a Hamász szerint a túszokat nem engedik el addig, amíg az izraeli hadsereg teljesen ki nem vonul Gázából.
Izrael azonban azt állítja, hogy állandó katonai jelenlétet szeretne mind a Philadelphi-i folyosón, egy szűk ütközőzónában a gázai-egyiptomi határ mentén, mind a Netzarim folyosón, az IDF által felállított sávban, amely gyakorlatilag kettévágja Gázát.
„Felszólítom a vezetőimet és az összes többi vezetőt: üljön le és beszéljen. Emberek vagyunk, nem? Itt az ideje beszélni.” – Mirav Berkowitz, izraeli tüntető.
Körülbelül 100 túsz maradt fogságban Gázában, de az izraeli hatóságok becslése szerint közülük legalább 30 meghalt.
A Túszok térként ismertté vált heti tiltakozások politikai dimenziót is öltöttek, sok tüntető követelte Netanjanhu lemondását és új választások kiírását.
Egyesek azzal vádolják, hogy politikai túlélését helyezi előtérbe a Hamasz foglyaival szemben.
