Életveszélybe került egy 13 éves új-zélandi fiú, miután közel 200 mágnest lenyelt, ezzel súlyos sérülést okozva a bélrendszerében – írja a Science Alert.
A tinédzser hasi panaszokkal ment a Tauranga Kórházba, ahol az orvosoknak elmondta, hogy egy héttel korábban körülbelül 100 darab mágnest nyelt le. Az orvosok az azonnali műtét mellett döntöttek, a feltárás során azonban kiderült, hogy a tizenéves közel 200 mágnest nyelt le.
A mágnesek egymáshoz tapadva összesen 4 láncot alkottak, amiket az orvosok a fiú bélrendszerének különböző szakaszaiból emeltek ki. A mágnesek több szövetben is nekrózist okoztak, a szövetelhalás miatt az orvosok a bélrendszer egy részét eltávolították.

Kettős gyilkosság vádjában bűnösnek találták azt az új-zélandi nőt, aki megölte két gyermekét, a holttesteket pedig bőröndökbe rejtette – írja az ABC News.
Az aucklandi bíróság esküdtszéke kedden bűnösnek találta a 45 éves Hakyung Lee-t kettős gyilkosság vádjában.
Lee 2018 júniusában megölte két kisgyermekét, a 6 éves Minu Jót és a 8 éves Yuna Jót, a holttestüket pedig bőröndökbe rejtette. Az áldozatok maradványaira évekkel később, 2022 augusztusában találtak rá véletlenül egy elhagyatott raktárban.
A gyilkosságok után Le Dél-Koreába utazott, de a holttestek megtalálása után kiadták, és Új-Zélandra vitték.
Lee védőügyvédei azzal érveltek, hogy az asszony elmebeteg volt a gyilkosság idején, de az esküdtszék elutasította a kérelmet. Natalie Walker ügyész a tárgyaláson elmondta, hogy Lee csupán önzésből ölte meg gyermekeit, mert nélkülük akart új életet kezdeni.
A nő letartóztatásban marad a november 26-i ítélethirdetésig. A gyilkosságok miatt Lee akár életfogytiglani börtönbüntetést is kaphat.

Egy nőt letartóztattak az új-zélandi repülőtéren, miután kézipoggyászában 22 kilogramm metamfetamint próbált karácsonyi ajándékként álcázva átcsempészni.
A hatóságok egy új-zélandi repülőtéren nagyjából 80 millió forintot érő metamfetamint bontottak ki karácsonyi ajándékként, amit egy kanadai nő próbált elrejteni – számolt be a Foxnews.
Az új-zélandi vámhivatal közleménye szerint a 29 éves nő egy vancouveri járattal érkezett meg december 8-án az új-zélandi Auckland nemzetközi repülőtérre, kézipoggyászában a tiltott kábítószerrel.
Leszálláskor a rendőrök kihallgatták a nőt, átkutatták a táskáját, ahol több mint 22 kiló metamfetamint találtak a hópelyhes csomagolópapír alatt.
A forgalmas repülőtér azonban nem jelenti azt, hogy a vámhatóság ne összpontosítana vagy ne figyelne bárkire, aki kábítószer-kockázatot jelenthet” – írták a közleményükben.
A repülőtéri csapatok éber tisztekből állnak, akik arra koncentrálnak, hogy elkapják azokat, akik megpróbálnak kárt okozni Új-Zélandon.
A nő azóta megjelent a bíróságon, ahol kábítószer behozatala és birtoklása vádjával kellett szembenéznie – írták.
„További együttműködési munkát végeznek kanadai partnereinkkel a bűnbandák megzavarása és a kábítószerek behozatalának megakadályozása érdekében, beleértve az utasforgalmat is” – mondták a hatóságok a Fox News Digitalnak.
A hatóságok tájékoztatása szerint a nőt azóta őrizetbe vették.

Egy vulkánkitörés miatt több légi járatot eltöröltek csütörtökön Új-Zélandon, mert hamufelhő szabadult fel – számolt be az Air New Zealand helyi légitársaság.
A Fehér-sziget vulkán mintegy 50 kilométerre keletre fekszik az Északi-szigettől és 200 kilométerre Aucklandtől, az ország legnépesebb városától. Kitörése 2019-ben 22 ember halálát okozta. A tájékoztatás szerint csütörtök reggel a vulkáni hamu jelenléte a repülési útvonalakon arra kényszerítette az Air New Zealandot, hogy törölje tíz járatát.
A társaság szóvivője később az AFP francia hírügynökségnek elmondta, hogy a légtérben lévő hamu szétoszlásának köszönhetően a járatokat újraindíthatták. A mostani tevékenység része a Fehér-sziget „tipikus kitörési ciklusainak”, és „még hetekig vagy akár hónapokig is folytatódhat” – figyelmeztetett a GNS Science nevű helyi kutatóintézet. A szakértők szerint a vulkáni gázok enyhe szem- és torokirritációt okozhatnak. Új-Zéland korábban a vulkáni riasztási szintet az ötfokozatú skálán a harmadikra emelte.
Simon Barker, a Wellingtoni Viktória Egyetem vulkanológusa szerint a 2019-es halálos kitörés óta a Fehér-szigetet tilos megközelíteni, ami a szakemberek munkáját megnehezíti, megakadályozza a megfigyelőrendszerek javítását, és „megnehezíti a jelenlegi aktivitás összehasonlítását a múltbeli kitörésekkel”.
Adrian Pittari, a Waikato Egyetem vulkanológusa elmondta: „A vulkáni füstben lévő hamu veszélyt jelent a repülőgépekre, mert beszívódik a motorokba, eltömítheti az üzemanyag-vezetékeket, megtapadhat a motorfelületeken, és rozsdásodást okoz a repülőgépek alkatrészeiben”. Bejuthat az elektromos és számítógépes rendszerekbe, beszivároghat az utastérbe, és csökkentheti a látási viszonyokat.

Egy darab „cukorkában” nagyjából 300-szor akkora metamfetaminmennyiséget találtak, mint amit egy átlagos drogfogyasztó használna.
Egy aucklandi, hajléktalanokat segítő jótékonysági szervezet véletlenül olyan cukorkákat osztott szét, amik nem édességek voltak, hanem cukorkás csomagolásba csavart metamfetamin-tömbök – vette észre a Telex a The Guardian cikkét.
Az Auckland City Mission egy magánszemélytől, adományként kapta a csomagot. Már 400 embert értesítettek, hogy megtalálják a szétosztogatott adománycsomagokat, amikbe került a cukrokból.
Egy darabban nagyjából 300-szor akkora metamfetaminmennyiséget találtak, mint amit egy átlagos drogfogyasztó használna. A tesztek során az is kiderült, hogy a mennyiség akár halálos is lehet.
Mivel a cukorkának álcázott tömbök utcai ára akár 1000 új-zélandi dollár (217 ezer forint) is lehet, a szakértők szerint nem direkt adományozták a segélyszervezetnek, és nem tartják valószínűnek, hogy egy hajléktalanokat célzó támadásról lenne szó. Ettől függetlenül a rendőrség nyomozást indított az ügyben.
A jótékonysági szervezetnek egy magánszemély jelezte, hogy valami nincs rendben, miután az élelmiszerbankból kapott cukorkának fura íze volt. A szervezetnél megkóstolták az egyik, még megmaradt cukorkát, és azonnal értesítették a hatóságokat.
Nyolc család jelentette eddig, hogy kaptak a drogos cukorkákból, és legalább egy gyerek meg is kóstolta az egyiket. Eddig senkit, aki kipróbálta, nem kellett kórházba szállítani, mert elvileg olyan borzalmas az íze, hogy mindenki azonnal kiköpte.

Mások arról számoltak be, hogy sűrű köd és a jeges út is nehezítette a haladást az autópályán.
A rendőrségi szóvivő nem erősítette meg a fedélzeten tartózkodók nemzetiségét, de a kínai konzulátus e-mailben közölte az Associated Presszel, hogy a buszok kínai turistákat szállítottak. A helyi mentőszolgálat szakemberei 15 embert vittek kórházba, két embert mentőhelikopterrel.
Az út, a baleset után még órákkal később is le volt zárva és kerülőút nincs a környéken. Grace Duggin, egy ausztrál turista, aki az egyik busz mögött haladt autójával, látta, hogy a busz letért az útról, többször megpördült, majd egy mezőn állt meg. Duggin elmondása szerint egy férfi vérző utasokat húzott ki a busz tetején lévő nyíláson keresztül.
„Főleg a kisgyerekek voltak azok, akiknek súlyos sérüléseik voltak” – mondta. A busz összes ablak betört mindkét oldalon és a szélvédő is – írja az Ap News.
Ahogy arról beszámoltunk, Spanyolországban néhány napja történt egy buszbaleset. A busz majdnem függőleges helyzetben „fennakadt” egy alagút bejáratánál.

Vixen Temple, az egyik felvonuló rúdtáncos pedig azt mondta: arra kérik a kormányt, hogy kollektív tárgyalási és érdekérvényesítési jogokkal védje meg az iparág dolgozóit a munkáltatók visszaéléseitől, akik nem hajlandóak emelni a fizetésüket és javítani a munkakörülményeiket.
Az új-zélandi felnőtt szórakoztatóiparban jelenleg egyéni vállalkozóként dolgoznak a táncosok és táncosnők, ami elvileg lehetővé teszi számukra hogy eldöntsék, hol és milyen díjazás ellenében lépnek fel.
A napi gyakorlat azonban azt mutatja, hogy kénytelenek elfogadni a szórakozóhelyek tulajdonosai által diktált feltételeket; sok esetben kénytelenek elfogadni, hogy a fellépést betegség miatt lemondó táncosokkal büntetést fizettetnek.

A szóvivő hozzátette, hogy a kizsákmányolás mértéke az utóbbi néhány évben megduplázódott, ezért a petícióban egy olyan jogi szabályozás kidolgozását kérték a törvényhozástól, amely érdemi segítséget jelentene számukra.

Mintegy 45 kis kardszárnyú delfin és palackorrú delfin vetődött partra vasárnap délután Új-Zéland északi szigetének keleti partvidékén, és mind elpusztultak – közölte hétfőn az új-zélandi Természetvédelmi Hivatal.
A helyi közösségnek egy időre sikerült az árhullámmal visszaterelni a delfincsapatot a mélyebb vizekbe, de később a partvidék egy távolabbi, megközelíthetetlen zátonyos részén ismét partra vetődtek. Számos állat elpusztult, a többieken pedig eutanáziával segítettek – osztotta meg a részleteket a hivatal.
Az eutanázia mellett a tudósok szakvéleményének kikérése után döntöttek az illetékesek. A szakértők ugyanis úgy értékelték, hogy a delfinek visszaterelésére a mélyebb vizekbe és túlélésükre alig van remény.
„A delfincsapatot nagyon rossz, sérült állapotban fedezték fel a sziklás partszakaszon, amikor több delfin már elpusztult. Nyilvánvalóan szenvedtek, és az eutanázia volt a leghumánusabb megoldás” – magyarázta a hivatal illetékese.
Bálnák és delfinek gyakran rekednek meg az új-zélandi vizeken. Partra vetődésük okai nem világosak, de a hivatal szerint közrejátszhat benne betegség, navigációs hiba, földrajzi tényezők, a hirtelen apály, esetleg az, hogy a csapatot ragadozó üldözi, illetve a szélsőséges időjárás is.

Legkevesebb két embert megölt és további ötöt megsebesített egy fegyveres férfi, aki csütörtökön a női labdarúgó-világbajnokság megnyitójára készülő Aucklandban kezdett lövöldözni. A hatóságok közlése szerint az elkövető is meghalt.
A lövöldözés alig pár órával a 9. női labdarúgó-világbajnokság nyitómeccse előtt történt Új-Zéland legnagyobb városában.
Chris Hipkins új-zélandi kormányfő televíziós sajtótájékoztatóján elmondta, hogy a hatóságok szerint a fegyveresnek nem voltak társai, és a rendőrség nem kutat más elkövetők után.
„A lövöldözésnek nem volt határozott politikai vagy ideológiai motivációja, ezért nem jelent nemzetbiztonsági kockázatot” – hangsúlyozta Hipkins. A kormányfő hozzátette, hogy a történtek miatt nem változtatnak a sportesemény tervezett menetén, de a városban megerősítették a rendőri jelenlétet.
Aucklandbe több ezer külföldi játékos és turista érkezett a világbajnokságra, amelyet Ausztrália és Új-Zéland közösen rendez. Andrew Coster rendőrfőnök elmondta, hogy a lövöldözésben egy rendőr, valamint négy civil sérült meg.
Coster tájékoztatása szerint az elkövető feltehetően egy 24 éves férfi volt, és egy építkezésen dolgozott, ahol a lövöldözés történt.
A férfi egy pumpás sörétes puskával volt felfegyverkezve, és lövöldözve ment végig egy épülő házon, majd egy felső szinten a liftaknából folytatta a lövöldözést, ahol később holtan találták.
A férfit korábban házi őrizetre ítélték, de engedélyt kapott arra, hogy bejárjon a munkahelyére.
