Azt követően, hogy az olasz vasútvonalakon kötelezővé tették a védettségi igazolvány meglétét, a rendelet ellenzői spontán blokádot szerveztek meg.
A római Termini pályaudvaron, a milánói központi vasútállomáson, Firenze és Nápoly vasúti megállóiban is rendkívüli biztonsági intézkedések léptek életbe. Több mint ötven pályaudvaron szigorították a belépők ellenőrzését, a rendőrség és a terrorizmus ellenes hatóság (Digos) egységei felügyelik, hogy senki sem tudja elfoglalni a síneket megakadályozva a vasúti forgalmat.
Az interneten hirdették meg a vasútállomások működésének megbénítását az kötelező koronavírus elleni oltás ellen ágáló csoportok, és nem ez lesz az utolsó, szeptember 2-án és 3-án is hasonló akciókat terveznek.
A tiltakozáshoz a római kormány rendelkezése vezetett, miszerint szerdától nemcsak a repülőgépeken, hanem a hosszú távú vasúti járatokon, többek között a nagysebességű és InterCity vonatokon, valamint a hajójáratokon is kötelező lesz a védettségi igazolás, mely nélkül az utasok csak teszteléssel szállhatnak fel. A városi tömegközlekedési eszközökön bármilyen korlátozás nélkül lehet utazni, csak a szájmaszk használata számít kötelezőnek.
A kötelező koronavírus-vakcinát és a védettségi igazolás használatát ellenző tüntetők megmozdulásai majdnem mindennapossá váltak. Szombaton több mint háromezren vonultak fel Milánó utcáin. Korábban Torinóban a város egyik vasútállomását próbálták meg elfoglalni.
Luciana Lamorgese belügyminiszter hangoztatta, hogy a hatóságok semmilyen fenyegetést és törvénytelenséget nem fogadnak el. A kormány szeptember 6-án készül bejelenteni, hogy az egészségügyben és oktatásban dolgozók után mely más szakmai kategóriák számára akarja kötelezővé tenni az átoltottságot, az elsők között a közigazgatásban dolgozókkal.
