1 вересня ФБР та Міністерство внутрішньої безпеки США провели обшуки в будинках, які можуть бути пов’язані з російським олігархом та союзником Володимира Путіна Віктором Вексельбергом. Про це повідомляє американський телеканал NBC News.
Детективи побували в його будинку на Фішер-Айленді в Маямі, у маєтку в Саутгемптоні (штат Нью-Йорк), а також у квартирі на Парк-авеню на Манхеттені. Як уточнюється, звідти поліція винесла кілька коробок.
В офіційних інстанціях у США причини обшуків поки не коментують.
Російський підприємець з оточення Путіна також є об’єктом розслідування міністерства юстиції США за звинуваченням у банківському шахрайстві. Жодних звинувачень у цій справі поки не пред’явлено.
Віктор Вексельберг — під санкціями з 2018 року
Віктор Вексельберг із березня 2022 року перебуває під санкціями США у зв’язку з війною в Україні.
До цього санкції проти нього запроваджували ще у квітні 2018 року США через його ймовірну причетність до втручання в американські вибори. Всі його активи у США заморозили, американським компаніям заборонено співпрацювати з олігархом із країни-агресора.
Очолювана Вексельбергом група компанія „Ренова” включає металургійні, гірничодобувні, технологічні та ряд інших активів.
