A koronavírus elleni védőoltások európai uniós közvetítéssel lebonyolított beszerzése kapcsán három volt bukaresti kormánytag mentelmi jogának felfüggesztését kezdeményezte csütörtökön a román korrupcióellenes ügyészség (DNA).
A vádhatóság közleménye szerint a 2021 májusában hivatalban lévő, Florin Citu liberális miniszterelnök vezette román kormány 52,8 millió felesleges Pfizer és Moderna vakcinát rendelt meg több mint egymilliárd euró értékben.
Az ügyészség szerint a kormány ezt annak ellenére tette, hogy Románia előzőleg közölte, 10,7 millió beoltható lakosa van, és a korábban leszerződött 37 millió dózis 23 millió ember immunizálására lett volna elegendő, ha kétharmaduk a harmadik, megerősítő oltást is kéri.
A DNA a legfőbb ügyésznél kezdeményezte, hogy kérje a gyanúsított kormánytagok mentelmi jogának felfüggesztését a román szenátusnál, illetve Románia elnökénél. Romániában ugyanis a parlamenti mandátummal rendelkező volt kormánytagok ellen csak az illető ház – szenátus vagy képviselőház –, a többi volt kormánytag ellen pedig csak az államfő jóváhagyásával indíthat bűnvádi eljárást az igazságszolgáltatás.
