Oroszország kedden hajnalban nagyszabású rakétatámadást indított Ukrajna ellen, komoly csapás érte többek között a fővárost, Kijevet is, ahol legkevesebb tizenhat ember megsebesült, a város több részében pedig továbbra sincs áram.
A légitámadás a számokat és a rakéták típusát tekintve a december 29-i nagy támadás megismétlése – jelentette ki az ukrán légierő parancsnoka, hozzátéve, hogy Moszkva több Kinzsal típusú hiperszonikus rakétával támadta Kijevet.
Az orosz légierőnek ugyanakkor tévedésből sikerült egy Ukrajnához közeli orosz falut is bombáznia a dél-voronyezsi régióban.
A kellemetlen incidenst az orosz védelmi minisztérium is elismerte. Közleményében a minisztérium azt írta, „2024. január 2-án, moszkvai idő szerint 9 óra körül, a légierő egyik repülése során a Voronyezsi területen található Petropavlovka falu felett a repülőgépek lőszereinek rendellenes kiürítése történt”. Sérültek nincsenek, de legalább hat magánház megsérült – tették hozzá.
