Lubinec sürgősen a Vöröskereszt Nemzetközi Bizottságához és az ENSZ-hez fordult, hogy rögzítsék az emberi jogok a terrorista ország általi újabb megsértését. Egyben az ukrán bűnüldöző szervekhez fordult, hogy ellenőrizzék a meggyilkolt fogoly személyazonosságát és a bűncselekmény tényét.
Megjegyezte, hogy az Orosz Föderáció az ukránokat akarja megfélemlíteni azzal, hogy ilyen fotókat és videókat terjeszt a közösségi oldalakon, és ilyen akciókat hajt végre.
Az Izraeli Védelmi Erők szerint semmi jel nem utal arra, hogy csapást mértek volna a térségre, de „vizsgálják az incidenst”.
A Vöröskereszt Nemzetközi Bizottsága (ICRC) szerint gázai irodájuk közelében legalább huszonkét ember vesztette életét, és többen megsebesültek, amikor egy közeli légicsapás elől menekültek péntek délután.
Az Izraeli Védelmi Erők szóvivője a BBC-nek elmondta, hogy az első vizsgálatok szerint „semmi jel nem utal arra”, hogy csapást mértek volna a térségben, de hozzátette, hogy az incidenst „vizsgálják”.

A Hamász vezette gázai egészségügyi minisztérium számai szerint 25 ember meghalt és 50 megsebesült a lövésekben, amelyekért Izraelt tette felelőssé.
Szombaton William Schomburg, az ICRC rafahi irodájának vezetője ismertette a pénteki támadás részleteit. „Sok sebesült volt, a jelenetek szörnyűek voltak, őszintén szólva semmi olyat nem láttam még soha” – mondta a BBC-nek Rafahból.

„Egy hónap telt el az olenyivkai kolónia elleni felháborító támadás óta. Az aktív titkos tárgyalások ellenére nem kaptunk hozzáférést a támadás során megsérült hadifoglyokhoz, és nem rendelkezünk a látogatáshoz szükséges biztonsági garanciákkal sem. Nagy erőfeszítéseket teszünk, hogy ez megváltozzon” – mondta Mardini.
Elmondása szerint tudja, hogy az embereknek kérdéseik vannak a Nemzetközi Vöröskereszt ukrajnai szerepével kapcsán, és szükségesnek tartja elmagyarázni, hogy „szervezetként mit tehetünk és mit nem”. Mardini többek között megjegyezte, hogy a Nemzetközi Vöröskereszt nem kötelezhet senkit a hadifoglyokkal való bánásmódról szóló harmadik genfi egyezmény rendelkezéseinek betartására ebben vagy bármely más fegyveres konfliktusban.
„Ezért a felek felelősek, különösen egy nemzetközi fegyveres konfliktus körülményei között. Akár tetszik, akár nem, a harcoló feleknek kötelességük betartani azokat a normákat, amelyekben megállapodtak. Humanitárius szervezetként a Nemzetközi Vöröskereszt nem tudja cselekvésre kényszeríteni a kormányokat vagy a fegyveres erőket. Nincsenek fegyvereink. A Donyeck megyei Szlovjanszkban az ellenség az Ukrán Vöröskereszt evakuációs egységének támaszpontját 152 mm kaliberű tüzérségi fegyverrel támadta meg – közölte Tarasz Loginov, az Ukrán Vöröskereszt készenléti osztagának parancsnoka a Facebookon.
Elmondása szerint a lövöldözés következtében az épület megsemmisült, három autó megrongálódott. Az önkéntesek közül senki sem sérült meg. A lerombolt épületben működött az evakuációs osztag, amely április 18-a óta segítette a sebesült, beteg és mozgáskorlátozott civil lakosok evakuálását.
Mint ismeretes, a Vöröskereszt képviselői élelmiszer- és higiéniai készleteket, ponyvát és polietilént adtak a lakosoknak házaik felújításához, valamint takarókat, gyógyszereket és ivóvizet szállítottak az embereknek.
Loginov ugyanakkor hozzátette, az orosz parancsnokságnak tudomása volt az önkéntesek bázisáról, a közelben pedig egyetlen katonai létesítmény sincs. Összesen négy lövedék találta el a bázist.

Stillhart azt mondta, azért volt kudarcos a civilek evakuálása a hétvégén, mert hiába egyeztetett napokig a korridorokról az orosz és az ukrán fél, számukra végig óriási kihívás maradt, hogy a megegyezésük „konkrét, végrehajtható és precíz” legyen. Mint mondta, a megállapodások csak „elvben” köttettek meg – és azért vallottak azonnal kudarcot, mert nem pontosították az útvonalakat, és azt sem, hogy kik használhatják azokat.
Stillhart mindennek illusztrálására elmondta, hogy a Vöröskereszt munkatársai sem tudták elhagyni Mariupolt vasárnap, mégpedig azért nem, mert az útvonal, mely használatát engedélyezték nekik a menekülésre, valójában alá volt aknázva, mint azzal a munkatársak már a helyszínen szembesültek.
