Біля південно-західного узбережжя Ємену перекинувся човен з мігрантами. Із 45 осіб, які перебували на борту, вижили тільки четверо, повідомило в четвер Управління Верховного комісара ООН у справах біженців (УВКБ ООН).
У середу ввечері через сильний вітер та перевантаження поблизу південно-східної провінції Таїз перекинулося судно з мігрантами. Було знайдено лише четверо вцілілих, що підкреслює небезпечність морського шляху між Єменом та Африкою, додали в УВКБ ООН.
Верховний комісар спільно з Міжнародною організацією з міграції (МОМ) допомагає тим, хто вижив.
Щороку тисячі африканських громадян прямують морським шляхом до узбережжя Ємену, звідки більшість з них у пошуках роботи вирушають до країн Перської затоки. За даними Всесвітньої організації, лише у 2023-му до Ємену з Африканського Рогу прибуло 97 000 мігрантів. Переважна частина з них намагаються пробитися через охоплену громадянською війною країну до Саудівської Аравії та інших держав Перської затоки, щоб заробити на життя. Однак торгівці людьми, які організовують подорожі, часто перевозять їх через Червоне море або Аденську затоку в переповнених суднах-душогубках.
За даними МОМ, протягом останніх десяти років на цьому маршруті загинули або зникли безвісти щонайменше 1 860 осіб, зокрема 480 потонули.
У 2021–2023 роках кількість мігрантів, які прибувають до Ємену, зросла втричі: приблизно з 27 000 до понад 90 000.
У червні, коли біля єменського узбережжя перекинувся човен із Сомалі, на борту якого перебувало 260 мігрантів, загинуло щонайменше 49 осіб, зникли безвісти 140. У квітні як мінімум 62 людини, що намагалися потрапити в Ємен, втратили життя внаслідок двох корабельних аварій біля берегів Джибуті.

Днем раніше США завдали ударів по трьох мобільних протикорабельних крилатих ракетах, одному безпілотному підводному судну та одному безпілотному надводному судну.
„Це перше спостережуване застосування хуситами БПЛА з моменту початку атак 23 жовтня”, – йдеться в повідомленні Центрального командування.
Центральне командування стверджує, що ракети та кораблі становлять безпосередню загрозу для кораблів ВМС США і торгових суден у цьому районі.

Яхта з трьома росіянами та двома єгиптянами на борту зникла біля берегів Ємену, імовірно, унаслідок нападу піратів. Про це повідомив російський власник розкішного човна, який зараз проживає в Дубаї.
У розмові з інформаційним агентством AP Дмитро Чугуєвський зазначив, що 19-метрова яхта 30 Minutes, яка йшла під панамським прапором, зникла 19 квітня неподалік єменського кордону в районі саудівського острова Фарасан, де підтримувані Іраном єменські повстанці-хусити раніше вже здійснили кілька подібних нападів.
За словами власника, яхта прямувала до Джібуті. Вона не мала автоматичного сигнального обладнання, стандартного для суден, які йдуть небезпечними або жвавими водними шляхами.
Російське посольство в Ер-Ріяді в неділю заявило, що радіозв’язок із кораблем було втрачено.
Як розповів власник, капітану вдалося подати сигнал про напад на яхту озброєних піратів, і про це відомо владі Саудівської Аравії. «За нашим припущенням, їх викрали», – додав Чугуєвський.
Операція ВМС країн ЄС із боротьби з піратством «Аталанта», П’ятий флот США, дислокований у Бахрейні, та відділ британської армії з контролю за морськими перевезеннями на Близькому Сході також розпочали розслідування в цій справі.

Трагедія сталася у натовпі під час роздачі допомоги до Рамадану. Люди зібралися, щоби отримати по десять доларів.

Зазначається, що сотні людей увечері у середу зібралися у школі, щоб отримати пожертву до Рамадану у розмірі близько десяти доларів США на людину.
У МВС країни заявили, що двох місцевих бізнесменів, які влаштували захід, заарештовано, ведеться розслідування. У відомстві наголосили, що роздача допомоги не була погоджена з владою.
Як пише агентство АР, трагедія стала найбільш смертоносною подією в Ємені за останні роки, не пов’язаною з війною, що триває.
За словами двох очевидців, бойовики-хусити стріляли у повітря, намагаючись заспокоїти натовп, і, мабуть, зачепили електричний провід, що призвело до вибуху. Це викликало паніку та тисняву.

У південній провінції Ємена Абіян невідомі викрали п’ятьох співробітників Департаменту безпеки ООН та вимагали за них викуп.
Про це повідомляє AP з посиланням на місцевих чиновників.
Зазначається, що напад стався ввечері 11 лютого, коли співробітники організації поверталися із регіонального відрядження до столиці Ємену. Серед заручників — четверо єменців та іноземець. Проте, за даними Yemen Press Agency, невідомі викрали шістьох співробітників ООН — одного болгарина та п’ятьох єменців.
„Ми знаємо про цей випадок, але зі зрозумілих причин не будемо коментувати», – сказав речник ООН Стефан Дюжаррік.
В ООН додали, що перебувають у тісному контакті із місцевою владою та намагаються звільнити своїх співробітників. За даними місцевої влади, викрадачі вимагали викуп та звільнення деяких екстремістів, яких утримує міжнародно визнаний уряд. Зі зловмисниками ведуться переговори. У викраденні підозрюють бойовиків „Аль-Каїди” на Аравійському півострові”, яка вважалася найнебезпечнішою гілкою глобальної мережі та намагалася здійснити напади на території США. Однак офіційно поки ніхто не взяв відповідальність за напад.
Повідомляється, що викрадення є поширеними в Ємені, де племінні ополчення та екстремісти, пов’язані з „Аль-Каїдою”, захоплюють заручників в обмін на полонених або гроші.
Ємен потопає у громадянській війні з 2014 року, коли підтримувані Іраном шиїтські повстанці із руху „Ансар Алла” захопили контроль над столицею Саною та більшою частиною півночі, змусивши уряд тікати на південь, а потім до Саудівської Аравії.

Дo вiдoмa, xуcити – вoєнiзoвaнe угpупувaння шиїтiв-зeйдитiв, якe дiє нa тepитopiї Ємeну. Ця гpупa oтpимaлa нaзву нa чecть її зacнoвникa тa кoлишньoгo кepiвникa Xуceйнa aль-Xуcи, який був убитий ємeнcькoю apмiєю у вepecнi 2004 poку (Вiкiпeдiя).
Тoж, внacлiдoк aвiaудapу пo в’язницi у мicтi Caaдa нa пiвнoчi Ємeну щoнaймeншe 70 ув’язнeниx зaгинули i близькo 200 людeй булo пopaнeнo. Дo cлoвa, у цiй в’язницi xуcити утpимувaли зaтpимaниx мiгpaнтiв, пepeдaє видaння Associated Press.
Щe oдин aвiaудap, який булo зaвдaнo пo пopтoвoму мicту Xoдeйдa пoвнicтю вiдключив нaйбiднiшу apaбcьку кpaїну вiд iнтepнeту. Нaгaдуємo, щo iнтeнcивнa вiйcькoвa кaмпaнiя у Ємeнi poзпoчaлacя пicля тoгo, як xуcити, щo пiдтpимуютьcя Ipaнoм, 17 ciчня цьoгo poку, aтaкувaли з пoвiтpя oб’єкти в Aбу-Дaбi, cтoлицi Oб’єднaниx Apaбcькиx Eмipaтiв.
Цe oзнaмeнувaлo cepйoзну ecкaлaцiю кoнфлiкту у здaвaлocя б мoнoлiтнoму apaбcькoму cвiтi. В peзультaтi aтaки в пpoмиcлoвiй зoнi Муcaффa в Aбу-Дaбi вибуxнули тpи бeнзoвoзи. Вибуx cтaвcя бiля пaливниx cxoвищ нaфтoвoї кoмпaнiї ADNOC, нeпoдaлiк мiжнapoднoгo aepoпopту Aбу-Дaбi, пpиблизнo зa 20 кiлoмeтpiв вiд пpeзидeнтcькoгo пaлaцу.
Дo вiдoмa, у зaтяжнiй гpoмaдянcькiй вiйнi в Ємeнi paдикaльний icлaмicтcький peжим Ipaну пiдтpимує пoвcтaнцiв-xуcитiв. A oчoлювaнa Caудiвcькoю Apaвiєю кoaлiцiя apaбcькиx дepжaв, куди вxoдять i OAE, пiдтpимaлa oфiцiйний уpяд Ємeну у бopoтьбi з xуcитaми. У 2015 poцi кoaлiцiя ввeлa дo Ємeну вiйcькa.
Щo cтocуєтьcя OAE, тo дo 2020 poку Eмipaти вжe пpaктичнo вивeли cвoї вiйcькoвi cили з Ємeну, пpoтe, як i paнiшe, бepуть пoлiтичну учacть у тoму, щo вiдбувaєтьcя в цiй кpaїнi.
Зi cвoгo бoку, xуcити, як cвoгo poду вiдпoвiдь нa цi дiї apaбcькoї кoaлiцiї нeoднopaзoвo opгaнiзoвувaли aтaки з пoвiтpя нa oб’єкти в Caудiвcькiй Apaвiї. Тaк, дo пpиклaду, 28 бepeзня 2020 poку вoни oбcтpiляли бaлicтичними paкeтaми caудiвcькi мicтa, cтoлицю Ep-Piяд тa Джизaн, a в лютoму 2021 poку зa дoпoмoгoю БПЛA («безпілотників») тa paкeт aтaкувaли нaфтoпepepoбнi зaвoди в Джубaйлi тa Джиддi.

В одному з аеропортів Ємену, в Адені, стався теракт, – повідомив портал Al Arabiya. На цьому місці вибухнула бомба, захована в автомобілі.
Як повідомляє російське інформаційне агентство TAСС, вибух стався біля зовнішніх воріт міжнародного аеропорту Адена. Внаслідок нападу загинуло щонайменше десяток людей.
Посилаючись на офіційні джерела, Yemen Al Ghad пише, що атака була спрямована на зовнішні ворота аеропорту. Вибух стався перед готелем.
Наразі відомо про десять загиблих, 28 поранених, кілька з яких були доставлені до лікарні у важкому стані.
