 Migránsok egy csoportja jelszavakat skandált, „szabadon engedésüket” követelték, és a központot körülvevő kerítést rángatták – mondta el a szóvivő.
 
 A központban feszült a helyzet, de a határőrség a rendőrség támogatásával ellenőrzés alatt tartja azt, nem került sor összetűzésre, senki sem szökött ki a migránsok közül – számolt be Konieczniak. Anna Michalska, a határőrség országos szóvivője elmondta: a wedrzyni központban jelenleg mintegy 600-an tartózkodnak, közülük 358-an iraki állampolgárok, valamennyien férfiak.
 Wedrzyn azon lengyelországi befogadóközpontok egyike, amelyeket a Fehéroroszország irányából augusztus óta erősödő migrációs nyomás miatt létesítettek. A múlt hét elején közölt adatok szerint ezekben összesen 1828 személyt helyeztek el, legtöbben közülük irakiak. Hétfői adatok szerint az illegális határátlépés miatt őrizetbe vett 1240 iraki közül 716-an kértek Lengyelországban nemzetközi védelmet. Azok esetében, akik nem nyújtottak be ilyen kérvényt, illetve nem kapták meg a menekültstátuszt, a lengyel hatóságok megkezdték a visszatoloncolási eljárásokat.
