Прем’єр-міністр Португалії Луїс Монтенегро оголосив стан стихійного лиха у найбільш постраждалих від лісових пожеж регіонах.
Про це повідомляє Associated Press.
Монтенегро закликав поліцейських слідчих подвоїти зусилля з пошуку осіб, які спричинили пожежі, а також пообіцяв допомогти тим, хто втратив домівки або був евакуйований.
За даними супутників програми Copernicus, у Португалії станом на вечір вівторка вигоріло понад 15 тисяч гектарів землі, тоді як загальна протяжність лісових пожеж становила 13 кілометрів. Ризик пожежної небезпеки поширюється і на територію, де проживають 210 тис. людей.
Серед найбільш постраждалих район Авейру на південь від міста Порту, однак кілька великих пожеж вийшли з-під контролю і в інших лісистих районах країни.
Раніше Національна поліції Португалії повідомила про затримання сімох осіб, яких підозрюють у провокуванні лісових пожеж впродовж останніх днів.
Іспанія відправила до Португалії 240 своїх солдатів і техніку із батальйонів швидкого реагування, які спеціалізуються на боротьбі із пожежами. Також чотири протипожежні літаки із Франції, два з Іспанії та два з Італії були розгорнуті у Португалії в середу для ліквідації лісових пожеж.

Губернатор Каліфорнії оголосив надзвичайний стан у Лос-Анджелесі та прилеглих округах через масштабні лісові пожежі. Неконтрольованому поширенню полум’я сприяла спека, яка досягла регіону.
Біля другого за величиною міста США вирують три лісові пожежі, які пожежники не можуть взяти під контроль. За словами губернатора Гевіна Ньюсома, штат Каліфорнія надає всі наявні ресурси для гасіння, для роботи мобілізовано понад 5700 осіб.
На північ від Лос-Анджелеса за 24 години полум’я охопило майже 20 тисяч гектарів і знищило кілька житлових будинків. Жителям Райтвуда і Маунт-Болді довелося залишити свої будинки.
Офіс шерифа округу Лос-Анджелес повідомив, що троє людей були оточені вогнем біля гори Болді.
Визволити їх готові вертолітні рятувальні підрозділи, щойно розвіється частина диму, що вкриває територію.
Ще одна неконтрольована лісова пожежа охопила 14 тисяч гектарів на північний схід від Лос-Анджелеса. З навколишніх гірських сіл евакуювали людей, багато доріг стали непроїзними.
На південний схід від Лос-Анджелеса палає третя лісова пожежа, яка наразі охопила 8900 гектарів. За словами місцевих пожежників, постраждало семеро людей.
Неконтрольованому поширенню полум’я сприяла спека, яка останніми днями досягла регіону. Температура повітря подекуди перевищила 43 градуси за Цельсієм, але в середині тижня почала дещо спадати. Через глобальне потепління хвилі спеки посуха та лісові пожежі стають дедалі більш поширеними у західній частині Північної Америки.

Губернатор Нью-Мексико Мішель Лужан Грішем пообіцяла використати всі наявні ресурси для гасіння пожеж.
За даними офісу губернатора, на даний момент відомо, що є один загиблий.
За даними Департаменту лісового господарства Нью-Мексико, який пояснив швидке поширення вогню сухою і вітряною погодою, полум’я охопило близько 500 будівель, переважно житлових. Він додав: лісові пожежі не є рідкістю в штаті і, згідно з прогнозами, цей рік не буде винятковим.
Через пожежу було частково перекрито шосе 70 на південь від села, а також порушено телефонний зв’язок. Евакуйовані мешканці були переселені до сусідніх сіл.
Тим часом у Каліфорнії, на північ від Лос-Анджелеса, пожежники борються з іншою лісовою пожежею, яка вже спалила понад 15 000 гектарів і спричинила сотні евакуацій. Станом на вечір вівторка 31 відсоток обсягів цієї пожежі було локалізовано.
За офіційними даними, в даний час в США вирують 29 великих лісових пожеж, 10 із них на західному узбережжі Каліфорнії.
Сполучені Штати борються з першою великою хвилею спеки в літньому сезоні. Станом на вівторок понад 70 мільйонів американців, або кожен п’ятий житель країни, вже перебували під загрозою спеки. У деяких містах, включаючи Чикаго, фіксуються рекордні температури для цієї пори року.

Сильні шторми в п’ятницю та суботу спричинили значні труднощі в деяких регіонах на півдні Німеччини. Декого з місцевих жителів довелося евакуювати гелікоптером у безпечне місце.
Через спричинені негодою повені між Мюнхеном та австрійським Бергенцом і швейцарським Цюріхом було припинено залізничне сполучення.
Експреси між Мюнхеном і Штутгартом довелося скерувати на інші лінії, а дорогу загального користування між Ульмом та Аугсбургом – закрити.
У містечку Фішах у Баварії для евакуації жителів залучали гелікоптер, оскільки через прорив дамби розлилася річка Шмуттер. У зв’язку з повінню в кількох районах оголосили надзвичайний стан.
Метеорологічна служба попереджає, що небезпека не минула, адже дощова погода очікується і в найближчі дні.
Катастрофічна ситуація склалася також у провінції Баден-Вюртемберг, де розлилася річка Роттум.

У зв’язку з оголошенням надзвичайного стану в Новій Каледонії розгорнуть військовий контингент „для забезпечення безпеки” портів і аеропорту, а також заборонять соціальну мережу TikTok, сказав прем’єр Франції.
„Військовослужбовці збройних сил розгортаються для забезпечення безпеки портів і аеропорту Нової Каледонії”, – заявив Атталь на відкритті міжвідомчого кризового підрозділу при французькому Міністерстві внутрішніх справ.
Верховний комісар Нової Каледонії Луї Ле Франк, який попросив підкріплення армії для захисту аеропорту Нумеа, також оголосив комендантську годину на території.

У Мілані вода на вулицях була по коліно, у Венеції рівень води в каналах значно піднявся.
В Італії склались екстремальні погодні умови. У Мілані через повінь на річці Севезо в північній частині міста на вулицях вода була по коліно.
Влада працює над створенням водозбірних басейнів, які утримають принаймні частину води. Представник мерії Мілана Марко Гранеллі повідомив, що водосховище в місті готове, наразі проводиться тестування насосів. Об’єкт запрацює в листопаді. Водночас в інших частинах регіону Ломбардія немає таких водозбірних басейнів.
У п’яти регіонах Італії було оголошено попередження другого рівня, а в провінції Венето – найвищого. У Венеції значно піднявся рівень води в каналах. За прогнозами метеорологів, незабаром ситуація покращиться. Шторм, який приніс значні опади, рухається до центральної та південної частин країни, де осінь наразі незвично тепла. У Палермо днями зафіксували 34°С, а в Римі – 28°С.

Міська рада Братислави оголосила надзвичайний стан на території столиці Словаччини через транзитну міграцію, повідомив речник мерії Петер Бубла.
Коли сусідні держави закрили свої кордони, у місті почали накопичуватися більші групи мігрантів.
«Хоча вирішення цього питання є в першу чергу завданням держави, столиця не може залишатися осторонь. Місто в співпраці з Управлінням соціального захисту та громадськими організаціями допомагає в розміщенні, харчуванні й забезпеченні необхідними медикаментами, зокрема, матерів з малолітніми дітьми», – повідомив речник мерії.
Петер Бубла додав, що запровадження надзвичайного стану дозволяє столиці ефективніше надавати підтримку.

У Нью-Йорку за кілька годин випала місячна норма опадів, внаслідок чого деякі райони міста затопило.
У п’ятницю, 29 вересня, у Нью-Йорку потужна злива затопила вулиці, підвали та станції метро. Цей дощ став одним з найсильніших за всю історію спостережень.

Зазначається, що сильна злива в Нью-Йорку призвела до затоплення великої кількості вулиць. Паводкова вода спричинила перебої у роботі залізниці та метро, зокрема призупинення руху на 10 залізничних лініях в Брукліні й на всіх трьох лініях метрополітену на півночі міста.
Наразі міська влада прийняла рішення закрити термінал аеропорту Ла-Гуардія, а також зупинити рух кількох гілок метрополітену.
Повідомляється, що за ніч у деяких районах випало до 13 сантиметрів опадів, а упродовж дня очікується ще на 18 сантиметрів більше.
Через негоду губернатор штату Нью-Йорк Кеті Хокул оголосила про запровадження режиму надзвичайної у самому місті та його околицях.
«Це дуже складна погодна ситуація. Це небезпечна для життя подія. Закликаю усіх жителів Нью-Йорка прислухалися до цього попередження, щоб ми могли забезпечити їхню безпеку», – заявила Хокул.
За словами метеорологів, опади були спричинені залишками тропічного шторму «Офелія», що дійшли до регіону з півдня.
