У середу автобус з’їхав з головної дороги, яка з’єднує столицю Непалу з рештою країни, і впав у річку. Загинуло щонайменше 8 людей, ще кілька зазнали травм.
За даними поліції, автобус з’їхав з шосе поблизу міста Гаджурі й упав у річку через поки що нез’ясовані причини.
Транспортний засіб частково пішов під воду, але рятувальники змогли витягти з-під уламків більшість пасажирів живими.

Twenty-four people died this morning when an Urban Connect bus they were travelling in collided head-on with a commercial truck at the Lutumba tollgate along the Beitbridge-Masvingo highway.

На борту було 22 пасажири, пише Reuters.
„Пошуково-рятувальні війська фізично знайшли місце катастрофи літака”, – повідомив речник армії Нараян Сілвал.
На борту літака De Havilland Canada DHC-6-300 Twin Otter, що експлуатувався приватною авіакомпанією „Tara Air”, було 16 непальців, чотири громадян Індії та двоє Німеччини.
Перед втратою звʼязку з диспетчером літак пролетів 20 хвилин. Він стартував з туристичного міста Покхара та прямував до Джомсома – іншого туристичного міста. Причина аварії поки що не повідомляється. Рятувальники шукають жертв і поранених. Наразі знайдено 14 тіл.
Літак з таким бортовим номером перший політ здійснив у 1979 році.

Державне Непальське телебачення повідомило, що жителі села бачили літак біля витоку річки Лянку Кхола біля підніжжя гімалайської гори Манапаті в районі, що межує з Тибетом.
Управління цивільної авіації Непалу (CAAN) також повідомило, що група спасіння прямує до цього району.
За словами урядовців, літак злетів вранці для 20-хвилинного польоту, але втратив зв’язок із диспетчерською вежею за п’ять хвилин до того, як мав приземлитися. Його експлуатувала компанія Tara Air.
Авіакомпанія повідомила, що на борту літака перебували чотири індійці, два німці і 16 непальців, у тому числі три члени екіпажу.
Літак вилетів із туристичного міста Покхара, приблизно за 125 км на захід від столиці Катманду. Він прямував до Джомса, який знаходиться приблизно в 80 км на північний захід від Покхари і є популярним туристичним та паломницьким місцем.

У Непалі в неділю через зливи, що викликали зсуви, загинули 12 людей, ще 21 людина зникла без вісті. Про це з посиланням на місцеву владу повідомляє Reuters, передає УНН.
“10 людей загинули, а 21 зникли безвісти після масового зсуву, що зруйнував будинки та забрав людей у Барахбісе, за 100 км на схід від Катманду біля кордону з Тибетським регіоном Китаю”, — заявив представник уряду Непалу Мурарі Васті.
За його словами, ще дві людини загинули в результаті зсуву в містечку Баглунг на північному заході Непалу. Обидва зсуви обрушились на села до світанку, і люди не змогли врятуватися в безпечне місце.
“Рятувальники розшукують тих, хто зник безвісти”, — сказав Васті.
За даними уряду Непалу, останні смертельні випадки призвели до смертності від зсувів та спалахів, що відбулися в сезоні мусонів у червні-вересні, до 314 осіб. Щонайменше 111 людей залишаються зниклими безвісти, а 160 отримали поранення.
