Після розпаду Радянського Союзу за контроль над переважно вірменським азербайджанським анклавом велися дві війни. Міністерство оборони Азербайджану заявило, що двоє солдатів загинули в перестрілці, яка спалахнула після того, як азербайджанські солдати на забороненій для проїзду дорозі зупинили конвой, підозрюваний у перевезенні зброї зі столиці Нагірного Карабаху у віддалені райони.
Міністерство закордонних справ Вірменії заявило, що було вбито трьох співробітників міністерства внутрішніх справ Нагірного Карабаху. Відомство назвало нісенітницею заяву Азербайджану про те, що конвой перевозив зброю.
Вірменські військові захопили Нагірний Карабах під час війни, яка розгорілася на початку 1990-х років. Восени 2020 року в ході конфлікту, що тривав шість тижнів, Азербайджан відвоював значну територію.
Воєнні дії завершилися припиненням вогню за посередництва росії, і в регіон були введені російські миротворці.
Президент Азербайджану Ільхам Алієв та прем’єр-міністр Вірменії Нікол Пашинян кілька разів зустрічалися, щоб вирішити конфлікт, але періодичне насильство перешкоджало мирним зусиллям.
Протягом останніх трьох місяців азербайджанські екоактивісти блокували єдиний шлях з Вірменії до Нагірного Карабаху – Лачинський коридор. Вірменія заявляє, що протестувальники є політичними активістами, які діють від імені вірменської влади.

Про це повідомив Секретар Ради безпеки Вірменії Армен Григорян, пише вірменська служба “Радіо Свобода”.
“Звісно, без домовленості було неможливо мати припинення вогню. Сподіватимемося, що Азербайджан продовжить дотримуватися режиму припинення вогню“, – заявив Григорян.
У середу міністр закордонних справ Азербайджану Джейхун Байрамов повідомив, що Баку представив Єревану пропозицію про встановлення одностороннього гуманітарного припинення вогню. Але в МЗС Вірменії заявили, що не мають інформації про таку пропозицію.
Також Азербайджан висловив готовність передати тіла близько 100 вірменських військовослужбовців.
Речниця МЗС Азербайджану Лейла Абдуллаєва у своєму Twitter звинуватила Вірменію у порушенні домовленості. Зазначила, що вірменська сторона продовжує артилерійські удари по позиціях Азербайджану.
Вірменська сторона повідомила про щонайменше 105 загиблих, азербайджанська сторона – про 50 загиблих. Також є загиблі серед мирного населення Вірменії.

«На даний момент у нас 49 убитих (військовослужбовці), і, на жаль, це не остаточна цифра», — сказав Пашинян.
Азербайджанське агентство Trend повідомляє, що 13 вересня Вірменія та Азербайджан домовилися про припинення вогню з 09:00 за місцевим часом (8:00 за Києвом) незважаючи на те, що збройні сили Вірменії нібито на деякий час порушували домовленість. З 09:15 режим припинення вогню було відновлено.
Конфлікт між Азербайджаном та Вірменією триває ще з 1990-х років. Попередній серйозний епізод вдалося погасити восени 2020 року, коли в Карабах ввели російських миротворців. Проте конфлікт поновився у березні 2022 року, вже після російського вторгнення в Україну.
17 липня 2022 року президент Азербайджану звинуватив росію та Вірменію у порушенні угоди щодо Нагірного Карабаху. За його словами, Міноборони Росії не виконало своєї обіцянки забезпечити виведення вірменських військових із Нагірного Карабаху до червня 2022 року.

Про це повідомляє азербайджанське агентство АРА.
У середу розпочався демонтаж постів, встановлених на в’їзді до Лачинського коридору та вздовж дороги з боку Губадлинського району, контрольно-пропускних пунктів, споруд, в яких проживають російські військовослужбовці.
Водночас військові РФ, які в регіоні мають офіційний статус миротворців, тимчасово продовжать службу на новому коридорі, прокладеному Азербайджаном відповідно до угоди з Вірменією після шеститижневої війни 2020 року.
Азербайджанські чиновники стверджують, що проїзд цим коридором стане доступним у найближчий тиждень.
У четвер вірменське населення почало виїжджати з міста Лачин і сіл Забух і Сус, розташованих уздовж Лачинського коридору.
Нагадаємо, Лачинський коридор – це єдиний наземний шлях, що з’єднує Вірменію з адміністративним центром невизнаної Нагірно-Карабаської республіки Степанакертом (Ханкенді). При цьому сам Лачин із коридором контролювали російські військові.
Відповідно до угоди, укладеної між Вірменією та Азербайджаном після війни в Нагірному Карабаху у 2020 році, обидві країни мали побудувати дороги в обхід Лачинського коридору протягом трьох років.

Видання Арменпрес із посиланням на «Міноборони» Нагірного Карабаху повідомило, що сьогодні вдень на північно-західній ділянці лінії зіткнення азербайджанські підрозділи застосували ударні безпілотники. В результаті смертельне поранення отримав один військовослужбовець, ще вісім отримали поранення.
У свою чергу, Азербайджан звинуватив Вірменію в «інтенсивному обстрілі» своїх підрозділів у Лачинському районі. Через кульове поранення загинув один військовослужбовець.
МЗС Азербайджану звинуватило Вірменію в «грубому порушенні тристоронньої угоди», і що відповідальність за інцидент лежить на керівництві країни.

Єреван та Баку десятиліттями конфліктують між собою через Нагірний Карабах, населений здебільшого вірменами. Регіон офіційно належить Азербайджану, але внаслідок кривавого збройного конфлікту, що закінчився в 1994 році, потрапив під контроль сепаратистів, які називають себе вірменами, але, на думку Баку, там також присутня вірменська армія.
