Четверо єгипетських поліцейських загинуло під час нападу біля Суецького каналу, – повідомили джерела служби безпеки країни в суботу.
Згідно з інформацією, два автомобілі під’їхали до блокпоста поблизу міста Ісмаїлі, після чого двоє озброєних чоловіків вийшли з машин і відкрили вогонь по поліцейських. Окрім чотирьох загиблих, ще одинадцять поліцейських отримало поранення. Один із нападників був застрелений, іншому вдалося втекти.
За даними влади, швидше за все, це був терористичний акт. Це перша подібна атака на західній стороні Суецького каналу, що трапилася майже за три роки. Останніми роками атаки джихадистських угруповань, пов’язаних із терористичною організацією «Ісламська держава», були зосереджені на Синайському півострові вздовж східного узбережжя.

Причиною рішення стали напади акули на туристів, про які стало відомо 1 липня.
Місцева влада заявила, що жертвою нападу стала одна туристка – 68-річна жінка з Австрії, якій акула відкусила руку та ногу. Після нападу акули туристку доправили до приватної лікарні. Там постраждала померла через велику втрату крові.
Проте, за даними Міністерства довкілля Єгипту, внаслідок нападу акули загинули вже двоє людей.
„Дві жінки зазнали нападу акули під час купання в районі, зверненому до курорту Сахл Хашиш, на південь від Хургади. Обидві жертви померли”, – зазначено в офіційній заяві Мінприроди Єгипту.
У заяві Мінприроди не уточнюється національність двох постраждалих, а у рішенні губернатора Червоного моря закрити деякі пляжі в регіоні зазначалося, що „з’явилася акула-мако, а австрійський турист отримав поранення внаслідок нещасного випадку”.
У неділю, 3 липня, стало відомо, що знайдено тіло ще однієї жертви акули – 40-річної туристки з Румунії. Нещасну знайшли за кілька годин після нападу на австрійку. Обидва напади сталися близько 600 м від Сахл Хашиш.
„Губернатор Південного Синаю генерал-майор Халед Фуда, зять президента Абдель Фаттаха Ас-Сісі, категорично заперечував, що будь-які туристи в країні зазнавали нападу акул на березі Червоного моря. „Фейком” називали напад і загибель австрійської туристки й місцеві ЗМІ.

У суботу, 8 січня, в Єгипті сталася дорожньо-транспортна пригода за участю мікроавтобуса та великого пасажирського автобуса. Внаслідок аварії загинуло 16 людей, ще принаймні 18 пасажирів отримали травми.

За інформацією відомства, на місце події було направлено щонайменше 13 автомобілів швидкої допомоги. Постраждалих внаслідок ДТП було оперативно доставлено до лікарень на півдні Синайського півострова.
У свою чергу, інформаційне агентство Al Jazeera Egypt у Twitter опублікувало фото з наслідками дорожньо-транспортної пригоди. На місці аварії окрім медиків також працює багатом рятувальників. Крім того, спецтехніка допомагає боротися із наслідками смертельної ДТП.
