Двигун літака Delta Air Lines затягнув працівника аеропорту Техасу, внаслідок чого він загинув. Інцидент стався у п’ятницю близько 23 години в міжнародному аеропорту Сан-Антоніо, незабаром після того, як рейс 1111 прибув із Лос-Анджелеса.
За деякими даними, літак щойно приземлився і саме кермував до воріт, коли сталася трагедія. Нібито один із двигунів на той момент ще не був зупинений, хоча поки невідомо, хто відповідальний за те, що сталося, розслідування ще триває, повідомляє New York Post.
Працівник аеропорту був найнятий Unifi Aviation, компанією, яка уклала контракти з авіакомпаніями, такими як Delta, для виконання наземних функцій. Обидві компанії висловили жаль із приводу того, що трапилося, і висловили щирі співчуття родині загиблого, запевнивши у подальшій співпраці з правоохоронними органами.
Подібний інцидент стався і в новорічну ніч: у регіональному аеропорту Монтгомері, штат Алабама, загинув працівник наземної бригади, якого затягнув двигун літака American Airlines (AA).

У п’ятницю, 17 лютого 2023 року, у зв’язку зі страйком, який проходить в семи аеропортах Німеччини, близько 300 тисяч пасажирів не зможуть скористатися своїми квитками на рейси.
Як повідомляє Tagesschau, в аеропортах Німеччини проходить попереджувальний страйк, який ініціювали профспілка ver.di та Асоціація державних службовців.
Як йдеться в матеріалі, страйк в аеропорту Ганновера почався вчора ввечері. Це єдиний із семи страйкуючих аеропортів, який не має заборони на нічні рейси. Страйкують також аеропорти у Франкфурті-на-Майні, Мюнхені, Штутгарті, Бремені, Гамбурзі та Дортмунді.
За оцінками асоціації аеропортів ADV, майже 300 тисяч пасажирів постраждали від скасування 2340 рейсів. Асоціація говорить про „безпрецедентну ескалацію”. Тільки Lufthansa була змушена скасувати близько 1300 рейсів.
Асоціація державних службовців DBB вимагає підвищення заробітної плати на 10,5%, але мінімум на 500 євро для приблизно 2,5 мільйонів федеральних та місцевих службовців. Своїм страйком працівники хочуть підкреслити свої вимоги в колективному переговорному процесі між федеральним та місцевими урядами. Заплановані також спільні мітинги.

У міжнародному аеропорту ім. Ференца Ліста в м. Будапешті митники затримали одного з пасажирів. У нігерійця при в’їзді в Угорщину виявили майже кілограм наркотичних засобів.
За інформацією митної служби, у чоловіка знайшли понад 810 грамів кокаїну та 66 грамів героїну. Наркотичні засоби він намагався провезти у своєму тілі. Митники звернули увагу на знервовану поведінку пасажира, тому вирішили провести комп’ютерну томографію.
Чоловік прибув з Мадрида через зелений коридор. Службовці перевірили документи нігерійця, потім оглянули його багаж та одяг, але нічого підозрілого не знайшли. Проте комп’ютерна томографія показала, що в шлунку пасажира знаходиться близько півсотні сторонніх предметів.
Митники передали справу слідчим управління поліції аеропорту.
