Повідомляється, що приблизно о 7:03 ранку за центральноєвропейським часом один з російських літаків Су-27 зачепив турбогвинтовий двигун MQ-9, внаслідок чого американські сили були змушені затопити MQ-9 у міжнародних водах.
„Кілька разів перед зіткненням Су-27 скидали паливо на MQ-9 і пролітали перед ним у нерозважливий, екологічно небезпечний і непрофесійний спосіб. Цей інцидент демонструє не лише брак компетентності, але й небезпечність і непрофесіоналізм”, – йдеться у заяві.
Американське командування повідомляє, що MQ-9 виконував рутинні операції в міжнародному повітряному просторі, коли його перехопив і збив російський літак, що призвело до катастрофи і повної втрати MQ-9.
„Фактично, цей небезпечний і непрофесійний вчинок росіян ледь не призвів до катастрофи обох літаків. У заяві Генерального штабу ВПС Греції йдеться, що аварія сталася о 10.30 ранку за 25 морських миль (46 км) на південь від авіабази Андравіда, на північному заході Пелопоннесу.
Про причини аварії поки не повідомляється.
Стан пілотів невідомий, триває пошуково-рятувальна операція.
В операції беруть участь два вертольоти ВПС Греції AB-205, один вертоліт ВМС Греції S-70 і кілька кораблів берегової охорони. Військово-транспортний літак С-130 перебуває в режимі очікування.

За інформацією Sputniknews, винищувач виконував завдання о 9-й ранку за місцевим часом.
Місцевий новинний портал Loznica Info зазначає, що, за словами очевидців, винищувач летів низько з гірського масиву в бік Зворника і зробив коло.
Як інформує Telegraf.rs, у літаку було двоє пілотів.
Згідно з місцевими повідомленнями, літак упав у двір будинку в селі. За даними RTS, один із пілотів загинув, селянин зазнав поранення, повідомляє ABC News.
Міністерство оборони Сербії в Белграді підтвердило лише факт катастрофи. У відомстві заявили, що літак виконував льотну практику. Наразі жодних деталей справи не повідомили.
Унаслідок бомбардування сил НАТО в 1999 році значна частина сербських ВПС була знищена. В останні роки Росія та Білорусь надали Сербії вертольоти, літаки й танки для модернізації армії. Белград отримав від слов’янських країн 14 МіГ-29 для зміцнення своїх ВПС, а також відремонтував три МіГ-21, які можуть експлуатуватися до 2025 року.
