 Ізраїльські військові під час операції в місті Джебалія в секторі Газа виявили тіла п’яти заручників, які були викрадені радикальним палестинським рухом ХАМАС 7 жовтня. Про це повідомила Армія оборони Ізраїлю (ЦАХАЛ) у неділю, 24 грудня.
 „У Джебалії було виявлено мережу стратегічних тунелів, яка служила північною штаб-квартирою ХАМАС у секторі Газа і використовувалася ХАМАС для зберігання зброї, пересування та ведення бойових дій. У ході операції солдати знайшли та витягли тіла п’яти заручників”, – йдеться у повідомленні.
 У ЦАХАЛ зазначили, що в Джебалії було виявлено „дворівневу мережу тунелів ХАМАС з безліччю відгалужень”.
 „Перший рівень йшов на 10 метрів під землю, другий рівень перебував у десятках метрів під поверхнею. Після проведення операції мережу тунелів було знищено”, – розповіли військові.

 До звільнення південноафриканця доклала зусиль гуманітарна організація Gift of the Givers. У своєму повідомленні вона підкреслила, що з-поміж громадян ПАР Девентер провів у полоні «Аль-Каїди» найбільше часу.

 Серед заручників 115 чоловіків, 20 жінок і двоє дітей. Десятьом з них понад 75 років, а більшість — громадяни Ізраїлю. Ще є 11 іноземців, зокрема вісім людей з Таїланду.
 За словами Леві, наймолодшому заручнику десять місяців, він у полоні разом із 4-річним братом і матірʼю. Ізраїльські військові розслідують заяву ХАМАС про те, що хлопчиків та їхню матір вбили.
 Ще семеро людей вважаються зниклими безвісти під час першого нападу ХАМАС 7 жовтня.
 Загалом ХАМАС звільнив 110 людей. Частина заручників може бути в руках інших угруповань. 7 жовтня в атаці на Ізраїль брали участь не тільки хамасівці, але й представники «Ісламського джихаду», «Народного фронту визволення Палестини» та інших формувань.

 Нагадаємо, у п’ятницю о сьомій годині набуло чинності чотириденне перемир’я, укладене між Ізраїлем та угрупованням ХАМАС за посередництва Катару.
 Пенітенціарна служба Ізраїлю повідомила, що отримала список із 39 палестинських засуджених за тероризм, які будуть звільнені в рамках угоди з ХАМАСом.
 У неділю, 26 листопада, друга група з 13 ізраїльських заручників та чотирьох іноземців, звільнених ХАМАСом, перетнула кордон Єгипту після 49 днів у полоні, в якому вони утримувалися терористичним угрупуванням в Газі.
 Раніше терористи ХАМАСу вже звільнили перше групу заручників із 25 людей.

 Раніше 26 жовтня ізраїльська армія повідомила, що бойовики ХАМАС утримують у полоні 224 заручники. Серед них — жителі Мексики, Бразилії, США, Німеччини і Таїланду, а також ізраїльські цивільні особи і солдати.
