Повідомляється, що за підпал було затримано двох осіб.
Лісові пожежі вже понад тиждень вирують і на півночі Бразилії, у найважливішому регіоні з виробництва цукру, що загрожує міжнародним поставкам.
Значно постраждало, зокрема, місто Рібейран-Прету, яке знаходиться приблизно за 300 кілометрів на північ від Сан-Паулу. Більшою частиною регіону поширюється густий дим, інформують місцеві ЗМІ.
За даними Національного інституту космічних досліджень Бразилії (INPE), з використанням супутникових знімків 1–23 серпня в штаті Сан-Паулу було зареєстровано 3175 пожеж.

Лісову пожежу, яка вирувала на острові Мадейра з 14 серпня, вдалося взяти під контроль за допомогою пожежних літаків з Іспанії, повідомив очільник місцевого управління цивільного захисту Антоніо Нуньєс.
Після того як регіональна влада звернулася за допомогою до Європейського Союзу, на португальський острів прибули два гвинтові пожежні літаки, кожен з яких може перевозити шість тисяч літрів води.
Гасінню вогню посприяло й те, що погода стала туманною, а вологість повітря вищою.
Іспанські пожежні літаки діяли в першу чергу навколо гори Піко-Руйво, висота якої становить близько 1800 метрів.
Єдиний протипожежний гелікоптер Мадейри не зміг впоратися з нищівним полум’ям у лісі.
За супутниковими даними Copernicus, служби моніторингу клімату Європейського Союзу, вогонь, який вирував з 14 серпня, охопив площу близько п’яти тисяч гектарів. Унаслідок стихії люди й будівлі не постраждали. Водночас природне середовище та тваринний світ зазнали значної шкоди.
Як повідомляє інформагентство LUSA, причину пожежі з’ясовує кримінальна поліція. Голова регіонального уряду Мадейри Мігель Альбукерке вважає, що займання виникло внаслідок підпалу.

На заході Туреччини евакуювали близько 4 тисяч людей через лісові пожежі, які продовжують вирувати в околицях щонайменше п’яти міст, повідомляє місцева влада.
За останній тиждень пожежі спалахнули в 131 локації на сільськогосподарських землях, лісових угіддях і навколо міст, включаючи Ізмір. Державна телекомпанія TRT повідомила, що вогонь від лісової пожежі в третьому за величиною місті Туреччини, Ізмірі, на узбережжі Егейського моря охопив житловий парк і промислову зону.
Як повідомив міністр сільського та лісового господарства Туреччини, у ніч на суботу в околицях Яманлар згоріло 17 житлових будинків, під загрозою опинилися 105 житлових будинків і 44 промислові об’єкти, тому жителів і працівників довелося евакуювати.
Згідно з даними Міністерства охорони здоров’я, в Ізмірі госпіталізували 78 осіб, здебільшого з ознаками отруєння димом.
До гасіння пожеж залучили 13 літаків і гелікоптерів, завдяки чому вогонь вдалося відбити від житлових кварталів. Вогонь випалив майже 1600 гектарів рослинності. Міністр сільського і лісового господарства заявив, що у зв’язку з лісовими пожежами за підозрою в диверсії затримано шість осіб, двоє з них в Ізмірі і четверо в північно-західному місті Болу.
Туреччина все літо боролася зі спекою, яка спричинила лісові пожежі по всій країні.

У справі про найбільшу цього року лісову пожежу в Каліфорнії затримали чоловіка.
За даними правоохоронців, підозрюваний зіштовхнув палаючу машину в ущелину. Це спричинило наймасштабнішу цьогорічну лісову пожежу в Каліфорнії, яка призвела до вигорання 180 квадратних кілометрів території та евакуації населення в округах Батт і Техама.
Наразі поліція не називає особу підозрюваного та подробиці його затримання.
Крім Каліфорнії, пожежники борються з лісовими пожежами і в інших західних штатах США. У невеликому містечку Хантінгтон у східній частині Орегону евакуйовані раніше мешканці змогли повернутися до своїх домівок, оскільки дощ і низька температура допомогли загасити полум’я на площі 1630 квадратних кілометрів.
У той же час погодний фронт, який приніс дощі в район на межі Орегону та Айдахо, викликав шторми з блискавками. Унаслідок цього загорілися ліс і підлісок на десятках локацій.
У Монтані на тлі сильного вітру та сухої погоди в поєднанні з високою температурою виникло близько двох десятків нових лісових пожеж.
У північно-західній частині Сполучених Штатів поблизу Тихого океану цього літа лісові пожежі охопили близько одного мільйона гектарів.

Прем’єр-міністр Канади Джастін Трюдо заявив, що уряд схвалив запит Альберти на федеральну допомогу. Тож до гасіння пожеж та проведення евакуаційних операцій буде залучено загальнодержавні сили, у тому числі й військових.
Погіршення якості повітря змусило багатьох людей переїхати до міста Хінтон, що знаходиться приблизно за 100 кілометрів від Скелястих гір, повідомила адміністрація парку в середу ввечері у Facebook.
На щастя, за метеорологічними прогнозами, у цьому районі найближчим часом передбачаються дощі.

У зв’язку з лісовими пожежами, що вирують навколо затоки Сан-Феліче, з кемпінгу та курортного селища поблизу міста Вієсте в регіоні Апулія (Італія) у середу евакуювали майже 1200 туристів.
Людей човнами перевезли до гімназії, яку міська рада Вієсте перетворила на притулок.
До гасіння пожежі були залучені два канадські літаки та гелікоптер пожежної бригади, а також підрозділи, що боролися з вогнем на суші. Сильні пориви вітру спричинили поширення полум’я в напрямку курортного селища.
«У зв’язку з пожежами було порушено справу, адже є підозра, що це підпал», – повідомив Джуліано Паломба, підполковник жандармерії, який відповідає за розслідування.
Полум’я спалахнуло в середу вранці в лісовому масиві поблизу Вієсте, популярного туристичного центру. Мер міста Гвізеппе Нобілетті назвав ситуацію критичною.
Останніми днями лісові пожежі вирували також у Болгарії та Греції.

У провінції Кордова в центральній Аргентині з помешкань евакуювали кілька десятків людей через лісові пожежі, які вирують у країні внаслідок тривалої спеки.

Лісові пожежі загрожують новим районам на півночі Канади, тому тисячі людей знову змушені покинути свої домівки.
Уряд Північно-Західних територій країни прийняв рішення евакуювати все населення Хей-Рівера через лісові пожежі, пише MTI.
Влада закликала жителів цього невеликого містечка на березі Славонського озера прибути до аеропорту й чекати на подальші інструкції. Населення Хей-Рівера становить близько чотирьох тисяч осіб.

Вже тиждень у районі Апурімак, що в Перу, вирують лісові пожежі. Вони забрали життя п’яти людей, понад десять осіб отримали поранення.
Про це повідомляє Xinhua.
у південному регіоні країни пожежі охопили понад 200 га землі. Над приборканням вогню працюють пожежники, поліція, муніципальна охорона та армія, проте поки що загасити пожежу не вдалося.
Наразі відомо про 12 поранених та двох зниклих безвісти людей. П’ять осіб загинули.
Крім того, пожежа завдала значної шкоди худобі та навколишньому середовищу. Від вогню постраждала і сусідня з Перу Болівія.
