Az amerikai légierő Mirage F-1 típusú vadászrepülőgépe lezuhant az arizonai Buckeye közelében, a pilóta pedig könnyebb sérüléseket szenvedett.
A baleset egy rutin kiképzési küldetés során történt, amikor a Luke légibázisról üzemelő vadászgép egy lakatlan területen zuhant le, a bázistól körülbelül 15 mérföldre. A pilóta biztonságosan katapultált, könnyebb sérülésekkel megúszta az esetet, valamint a területről sem jelentettek sérülteket.
A helyszínen az 56. építőmérnöki század tűzoltósága, az 56. CES robbanóanyag-megsemmisítő egység és az 56. biztonsági erők százada segített a rendőrségnek, Gregory Kreuder dandártábornok pedig elmondta, hogy hálásak a kimagasló támogatásért, amelyet a Luke a közösségi partnerektől kap, különösen az ehhez hasonló nehéz helyzeteknél, ahol minden segítség jól jön.
