Tekintettel Ukrajna Gazdasági Biztonsági Hivatalának a sajtóban megjelent, Apple márkájú technikai eszközök az asztélyi ellenőrző ponton való illegális exportjával kapcsolatos hivatalos értesítésére, a Kárpátaljai Vámhivatal célszerűnek tartja a lakosság tájékoztatását az alábbiakról.
Az eset kapcsán a kárpátaljai vámhivatal ellenőrzést tartott annak érdekében, hogy megállapítsa a 2022. június 30-án Magyarországról Ukrajnába, az Asztély–Beregsurány közúti határátkelőhelyen belépő személygépkocsi vámellenőrzésének és nyilvántartásba vételének körülményeit. A vámellenőrzést és az autó az ellenőrzőpontról való távozását követően a Nemzeti Rendőrség alkalmazottjai a vizsgálat során Apple márkájú telefonokat és eszközöket fedtek fel összesen mintegy 2,4 millió dollár értékben.
A történtek miatt a Kárpátaljai Vámhivatal több tisztviselője ellen fegyelmi eljárás indult, melynek eredményeként a vétkes személyeket fegyelmi felelősségre vonták. A vámtisztet, aki közvetlenül végezte a vámellenőrzést és engedélyezte a jármű áthaladását a határon, még tavaly szeptemberben felmentették közalkalmazotti tisztségéből.
A Kárpátaljai Vámhivatal továbbra is felügyelet alatt tartja és leleplezi dolgozói csempészetben vagy korrupciós cselekményekben való részvételét, és ha beigazolódik, elbocsátja őket.

Értesítették az ellene indult eljárásról az asztélyi határátkelő egyik vámosát, akit azzal vádolnak, hogy pontatlan információkat tüntetett fel egyes járművek határon történő átengedésekor.
A nyomozás során kiderült, hogy a férfi kétszer követett el hasonló bűncselekményt, s az általa átengedett járművekben 1300 kilogrammnyi árucikket találtak, melyek után nem fizették be a vámilletéket.
A vámosra összesen 464 ezer hrivnyás bírságot állítottak ki, az ügyben folyik az eljárás.
