A rendőrségi jelentés szerint november 19-én este egy állampolgár kereste meg a rendőrséget azzal a bejelentéssel, hogy az egyik szomszédos lakásban robbanást hallott. Rendőrök és orvosok érkeztek a helyszínre. Az előzetes adatok szerint a lakásban tartózkodó katona és egy nő a gránátrobbanás következtében életét vesztette. Egy másik férfi, az elhunyt testvére megsérült, őt a mentősök kórházba szállították.
„Az incidens helyszínén robbanóanyag-technikusok, nyomozó- és műveleti csoport, valamint igazságügyi szakértők dolgoznak. Az esetet a nyomozás befejezése után minősítik jogilag” – áll a rendőrségi közleményben.

A New Jersey állambeli Hopewell Township település rendőrsége azt közölte, úgy vélik, hogy a tárgy kapcsolatban állhat az Eta Aquarida meteorrajjal.
A helyi rendőrség azt próbálja kideríteni, hogy a világűrből érkezett-e az a kőzet, amely hétfőn egy házba csapódott. Sajtóközleményükben azt írták, hogy egy meteoritnak vélt fémtárgy csapódott be az érintett ház tetőszerkezetén keresztül – írta a Fox News.
A házban több ember is tartózkodott, amikor a hosszúkás, 10×15 centiméteres tárgy átütötte a tetőt, majd a mennyezetet, végül a padlóba csapódva megállt. Hozzátették, hogy senki sem sérült meg.
A nyomozók azt is kiderítették, hogy a tárgy kapcsolatban állhat az Eta Aquarida meteorrajjal. A Space.com szerint a meteorraj április 15. és május 27. között aktív, és május 5-6. között tetőzik.
Csúcspontján, tiszta égbolt esetén a megfigyelők óránként körülbelül 50 meteort láthatnak az égen. Az American Meteor Society (Amerikai Meteor Társaság) szerint a meteorok másodpercenként körülbelül óránként 66 kilométeres sebességgel haladnak.

Felrobbant, majd összedőlt egy családi ház Londonban hétfő reggel – írja a Sky News.
Hétfő reggel London Croydon nevű negyedében összeomlott egy családi ház kigyulladt és összeomlott egy családi ház. A helyi lakosok közül sokan több utcával arrébb is robbanásszerű hangokat hallottak, ami után lökéserejű szél érte el őket.
Mások arról számoltak be, hogy az ablakaik és az ajtóik is beleremegtek a robbanásba. Több mint 14 hívást kaptak a tűzoltók az esetről, 40-en vonultak ki a helyszínre.
Két embert mentettek ki a házból, de egyelőre nem tudni, mi okozta a robbanást és a tüzet.
A sérültek és áldozatok számáról sincs egyelőre információ.
