  A szerencsére senki sem sérült meg, a daru kezelője is épségben maradt.
 Az embereket azonnal kimenekítették az épületből, attól tartva, hogy a daru teljesen összeomlik. A helyszínre számos mentő- és műszaki egység érkezett, hogy stabilizálják a darut.

 Két munkás a baleset helyszínén halt meg – közölték a tűzoltók. Harmadik társuk a kórházban halt bele a sérüléseibe – jelentette az ANSA olasz hírügynökség. Egy negyedik munkás és két járókelő megsérült, őket kórházba szállították.
 Az elsődleges értesülések szerint a baleset akkor történt, amikor a munkások megpróbáltak egy mobildaru segítségével egy másik darut felállítani az építkezésen. A daru valószínűleg eltörött vagy összedőlt, és rázuhant arra a darura, amelyen a munkások dolgoztak.

 A londoni rendőrséget állítólag félórán belül mintegy ezren hívták a baleset kapcsán.
 Londoni médiabeszámolók szerint szerdán 14 óra körül riasztották a helyi katasztrófavédelmi hivatalt és mentőket azzal, hogy a brit főváros Bow negyedében, a Gale utcában egy 20 méter magas építkezési daru rádőlt egy kétszintes sorházra.
 Az első jelentések szerint a baleseten egy ember meghalt, és négyen megsérültek. Helyszíni tudósítások szerint a balesetben 3 vagy 4 lakás érintett.
 
 Szó szerint sokkot kaptam, amikor láttam az ablakból, ahogy ledől az a toronyszerű valami. Épp a hálószobában voltam, amikor furcsa morajlást, és sikoltozásokat halottam. Még láttam, ahogy ráborul a házra, mondhatom rettenetes látvány volt – nyilatkozta a hírportálnak egy szemtanú. 
 A londoni tűzoltóság a közösségi oldalán azt közölte, hogy egyelőre nem tisztázott, mi okozta a balesetet, ahogy az sem, hogy mennyien  lehetnek még a romok alatt.
