Szerdán délután 6,1-es erősségű földrengés rázta meg El Salvadort az amerikai földtani intézet mérései alapján. Károkról és sérültekről azonban eddig nem érkezett jelentés.
A rengés, amely La Libertad nyugati régió partjaitól 60 kilométerre történt, a közép-amerikai ország nagy részét megrázta.
A rengést két erős, 4,1-es és 4,5-ös erősségű utórengés követte – írta Nayib Bukele salvadori elnök az X-en.

A rengést a szomszédos Guatemalában is erősen érezték.
Az eddigi jelentések szerint a földrengést követően nem áll fenn cunami kialakulásának a veszélye – számolt be róla az AP.
„Hála Istennek, eddig nem jelentettek áldozatokat vagy anyagi károkat. A szolgáltatások 100%-a helyreállt és az utakon a közlekedés fennakadás nélkül folytatódik” – írta Bukele az X-en.
Tegnap egy közepes, 5,2-es erősségű földrengés rázta meg a turisták körében kedvelt Kréta szigetét is. Áldozatokról, illetve károkról nem érkeztek jelentések a helyi idő szerint tegnap este fél nyolckor történt földmozgást követően.
Hétfőn az Atlanti-óceánon, Lisszabontól délre, 5,5-ös erősségű földrengést regisztráltak a Richter-skálán. A földmozgást Marokkóban és Andalúzia több területén is érezni lehetett.
Erős, 7-es erősségű földrengés rázta meg az Oroszországhoz tartozó, gyéren lakott Kamcsatkai határterületet is a hónap közepén. Szökőár-figyelmeztetést is kiadtak.
A földcsuszamlások és földrengések a természeti elemek olyan csapásai, amelyek hatalmas pusztítást okoznak és gyakran emberéleteket is követelnek.
Az olyan tényezők hatására, mint a heves esőzések, a földrengések, a vulkáni tevékenység és az emberi tevékenység alaposan kilenghet a földrengés skála, azaz a Richter-skála, Földünk mozgása pedig döbbenetesen pusztító is lehet. Nemrég beszámoltunk arról, hogy melyik volt az a tíz földrengés, amelyek mindegyike jelentős hatással volt az érintett régiókra.
Legkevesebb heten életüket vesztették El Salvadorban az esőzések által kiváltott földcsuszamlások következtében – közölték csütörtökön a hatóságok. A hírt a Reuters közölte.
A hatóságok azt is közölték, hogy két ember meghalt, egy gyerek pedig megsérült, mikor a földcsuszamlás elborított egy házat a San Salvadortól 18 km-re délre fekvő Panchimalco városában.
