Valószínűleg a figyelmetlen mozdonyvezető tehet róla, hogy elszabadult egy 53 vagonból álló teherszállító vonat Indiában. A vonat 70 kilométert tett meg és 100 kilométer per órás sebességre gyorsult fel úgy, hogy egyáltalán nem volt személyzet a fedélzetén. Szerencsére végül senki sem sérült meg.
Egy indiai tehervonat elszabadult Indiában, és személyzet nélkül száguldott 70 kilométeren keresztül nagyjából 100 kilométer per órás sebességgel.
Helyi idő szerint éjszaka, 2 és 4 óra között történt az elhagyatott vonat ámokfutása. Az 53 vagonból álló vonat építkezési anyagokat szállított Dzsammuból Punjab felé. A személyzet cseréje miatt Kathuában megálltak, viszont a vezető figyelmetlenségből úgy állította le a vonatot, hogy a vagonok többsége lejtőn volt. A mozdonyvezető és az asszisztense elhagyták a vonatot, ami a váltás érkezése előtt megindult a lejtőn és elszáguldott.
A vonat a 70 kilométeres távon öt állomáson robogott keresztül – írta meg a BBC.
Az elszabadult vonatról értesítették a hatóságokat, akik az útvonalon minden vasúti átkelőhelyet lezártak. Ennek köszönhetően végül senki sem sérült meg.
A járművet végül úgy sikerült megállítani, hogy egy vasúti dolgozó fahasábokat helyezett a sínre, így sikerült lelassítani a vonatot. Ezután egy vasutas fel tudott kapaszkodni a még mozgó járműre, és megállította a szerelvényeket.
A hatóságok közölték, hogy az ügyben vizsgálat indul.
