Az iráni hatóságok januárban és februárban legalább 94 embert végeztek ki – közölte csütörtökön az Amnesty International (AI) nemzetközi emberi jogi szervezet.
Az AI és az Abdorrahman Boroumand Center, egy iráni emberi jogi szervezet, amelynek székhelye az Egyesült Államokban van, közölte, hogy az iráni hatóságok legalább egy ahvázi arabot, 14 kurdot és 13 beludzsot végeztek ki „súlyosan igazságtalan pereket” követően, és legalább egy tucatnyi további embert ítéltek halálra az év eleje óta. Az ahvázi arabok, a kurdok, valamint a beludzsok önállóságuk kivívását szeretnék elérni.
Az emberi jogi szervezetek kutatásai szerint a kivégzések száma jelentősen megnőtt az előző évhez képest. Forrásaikra hivatkozva „szörnyű szexuális erőszakról és egyéb kínzásokról szóló állításokról” is beszámoltak.
Roya Boroumand, az Abdorrahman Boroumand Központ ügyvezető igazgatója azt mondta, az iráni hatóságok ijesztő mértékben hajtanak végre kivégzéseket. Dianay Eltahawy, az AI munkatársa arról számolt be, hogy a kivégzések rendszeresek, miközben a vádlottak elítélésére kínzással hamisított vallomásokat használnak fel a súlyosan igazságtalan perekben.
A nyilatkozó sürgetett minden államot, hogy gyakoroljon egyetemes joghatóságot minden olyan iráni tisztviselő felett, akit alaposan gyanúsítanak a nemzetközi jog szerinti bűncselekmények és az emberi jogok egyéb súlyos megsértése miatt fennálló büntetőjogi felelősséggel.
Az emberi jogi aktivisták évek óta élesen bírálják a halálbüntetés alkalmazását Iránban, mondván, hogy azt az elnyomás eszközeként és tisztességtelen perek után alkalmazzák.
A kivégzések hivatalos számai nem ismertek. Az Amnesty International szerint 2022 első felében legalább 250 embert végeztek ki Iránban, főként kábítószerrel kapcsolatos bűncselekmények miatt. A halálos ítéleteket Iránban általában akasztással hajtják végre.

A több tucat tiltakozó – köztük Greta Thunberg svéd klímaaktivista – azért torlaszolta el az épület főbejáratát, mert a skandináv ország középső részén létesített két szélerőműpark jelenleg is üzemel, pedig a norvég legfelsőbb bíróság 2021-ben hozott döntése szerint a turbinák működése sérti az ősi rénszarvaspásztor életmódjukhoz ragaszkodó számik nemzetközi egyezményekben foglalt kisebbségi jogait.
A számik a turbinák leszerelését követelik, mivel állításuk szerint a hatalmas szélerőművek látványa és hangja megijeszti az állataikat, és megzavarja az ősi hagyományok gyakorlását.
Greta Thunberget szerdát kétszer is őrizetbe vették Oslóban. Előbb a norvég pénzügyminisztérium, majd később a környezetvédelmi minisztérium elől vitték el őt és társait a helyi rendőrök.

Az Azerbajdzsántól egyoldalúan elszakadt, majd magát függetlennek nyilvánító, örmény többségű Hegyi-Karabah hovatartozása miatti háborús konfliktus 1988-ban, még a Szovjetunió fennállásakor robbant ki, és azóta újra és újra fegyveres összetűzésekhez vezetett az örmények és az azerik között. A térségben tavaly szeptember 27-én újultak ki ismét a harcok.
Azerbajdzsán elhatározta, hogy fegyverrel foglalja vissza az enklávét, és sikerült jelentős területeket ellenőrzése alá vonnia.
A harcok a november 9-én Moszkvában aláírt tűzszüneti megállapodással értek véget.
Ennek értelmében Moszkva mintegy kétezer békefenntartót vezényelt Hegyi-Karabahba. Ugyanakkor a tűzszüneti megállapodás Örményországnak is biztosít folyosót Hegyi-Karabah felé. Több mint háromszáz település – köztük több város – és számos magaslat került az azeri hadsereg ellenőrzése alá, a katonai sikerek pedig rákényszerítették Örményországot arra, hogy visszaszolgáltassa a Hegyi-Karabahhal határos Agdami, Kelbeceri és Lacini járást.
