Az észak-írországi rendőrség egy közérdekű adatbekérés során elküldött üzenetben véletlenül csatolta a szolgálatban lévő tisztek személyes adatait – írja a skynews.com.
A dokumentum tartalmazta a tisztek vezetéknevét, monogramját, rangját, besorolási fokozatát és osztályát. A magánlakcímeket kivéve minden adat nyilvánosságra került.
A rendőrfőnök-helyettes, Chris Todd bocsánatot kért, közölte, a rendőrség vállalja a felelősséget és elfogadhatatlannak tartja a történteket. Hozzátette, emberi hiba történt, a folyamatban részt vevők „minden bizonnyal jóhiszeműen jártak el.”
Todd szerint a jogsértés miatt sok kolléga aggódik, de mindenkinek adtak tanácsot, hogyan védjék meg személyes adataikat a jövőben.

Lőfegyverrel sebesítettek meg egy rendőrt ismeretlen tettesek szerda éjjel az észak-írországi Omagh városában. Válságos állapotban szállították kórházba.
A szolgálaton kívüli rendőrt, akit egy sportlétesítménynél ért a támadás, a hatósági tájékoztatás szerint válságos, de stabil állapotban kezelik az Omaghtól északra fekvő Londonderry kórházában – adta hírül az MTI a BBC értesülését. A brit közszolgálati médiatársaság úgy tudja, hogy a rendőrt több lövés érte.
Észak-Írországban 2017 januárja óta most először hajtottak végre fegyveres támadást rendőr ellen.
Az elkövetők kiléte és indítéka egyelőre nem ismert, de a BBC úgy tudja, a sérült az észak-írországi rendőrség (PSNI) egyik magas beosztású nyomozója, aki olyan merényletek vizsgálatában vett részt, amelyeket az észak-írországi britellenes republikánus mozgalom fő sodorvonalától elszakadt kisebb csoportok hajtottak végre.
A rendőr részese volt emellett szervezett bűnözői csoportok által elkövetett gyilkosságok kivizsgálásának is.
A támadást a legnagyobb britellenes katolikus, illetve britpárti protestáns pártok vezetői egyaránt elítélték. Michelle O’Neill, az ír sziget egyesítéséért küzdő legnagyobb katolikus párt, a Sinn Féin alelnöke és észak-írországi tagozatának vezetője – a jelenleg nem működő belfasti felekezetközi kormányzat volt miniszterelnök-helyettese – felháborítónak és szégyenteljesnek nevezte a támadást. Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, a legnagyobb észak-írországi protestáns parlamenti erő, a Demokratikus Unionista Párt (DUP) vezetője „gyávák által elkövetett” támadásnak minősítette az incidenst. Elítélte a támadást Leo Vardakar ír és Rishi Sunak brit miniszterelnök is.
Omagh volt a helyszíne az észak-írországi konfliktus legvéresebb merényletének.
A pokolgépes akciót 1998 augusztusában hajtotta végre egy fanatikus britellenes csoport, amely magát „igazi IRA”-ként azonosította, és amelynek tagjai jórészt az egykori legnagyobb észak-írországi katolikus milícia, az Ír Köztársasági Hadsereg (IRA) soraiból verbuválódtak. Az autóba rejtett robbanószerkezet 29 embert ölt meg, köztük kilenc gyermeket és egy terhes nőt, aki ikrekkel volt várandós. A robbanásban 220-an sebesültek meg.
Az MTI felidézte, az észak-írországi rendezési folyamat egyik meghatározó mozzanataként az IRA több mint negyedszázada felhagyott a fegyveres akciókkal, leszerelte fegyverzetét és gyakorlatilag beszüntette tevékenységét.

Folytatódtak péntek hajnalban az évek óta nem tapasztalt súlyosságú zavargások az észak-írországi felekezeti konfliktus több gócpontjában.
Az ír sziget egyesítését pártoló katolikus és a britpárti protestáns közösségek csoportjai ismét elsősorban Belfast, Carrickfergus, Londonderry, Newtownabbey és Ballymena városokban csaptak össze.
Belfastban – Észak-Írország fővárosában – a rendőrök hat éve először vízágyút vetettek be a Molotov-koktélokkal, kövekkel dobálózó tömeg feloszlatására.
Az észak-írországi rendőrség (PSNI) szóvivője szerint a hosszabb ideje parázsló, de az utóbbi napokban teljes erővel fellángolt konfliktusban eddig ötven rendőr sebesült meg.
Szakértői vélemények szerint az összecsapásokat a háttérből a britpárti protestáns unionista mozgalom szélsőséges félkatonai szervezetei – az Ulster Defence Association (UDA) és az Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF) – irányíthatják.
Az észak-írországi rendőrség szerint ezektől a csoportosulásoktól – főleg a UDA-től – nem idegen a szervezett bűnözés, és mostani fellépésük bosszú lehet azért, mert a hatóságok az utóbbi időben kampányt kezdtek a bűnözői csoportok felszámolására, elsősorban Carrickfergus környékén.
Az okok között szerepelhet az is, hogy az észak-írországi vádhatóság nem indított büntetőeljárást a legnagyobb britellenes katolikus párt, a Sinn Féin vezetői ellen, akik részt vettek Bobby Storey-nak, a radikális katolikus britellenes mozgalom egykori legnagyobb fegyveres szervezete, az Ír Köztársasági Hadsereg (IRA) néhai hírszerzési főnökének tavaly nyári temetésén. A szertartáson kétezren gyűltek össze a koronavírus-járvány megfékezését célzó korlátozások megsértésével.
Jelen volt Michelle O’Neill észak-írországi miniszterelnök-helyettes, a Sinn Féin alelnöke, Gerry Adams, a párt volt elnöke, Mary Lou McDonald, a Sinn Féin jelenlegi elnöke és a párt kéttucatnyi más vezető tisztviselője is.
A protestáns közösségekben ez erőteljes visszatetszést keltett, és több más, régóta parázsló feszültségforrás mellett ez is a felszínre tört a mostani zavargások helyszínein.
Egyes elemzői vélemények szerint a brit EU-tagság megszűnéséből (Brexit) eredő feszültségek is hozzájárultak a mostani zavargások kirobbanásához.
Az észak-írországi rendezési folyamatot elindító 1998-as nagypénteki megállapodás fő vívmányai közé tartozik, hogy teljesen megszűnt a 499 kilométeres ír-északír határon az egykor katonai szigorúságú ellenőrzés; fizikai határ ma már gyakorlatilag nem létezik.
A Brexit feltételeiről folytatott tárgyalások leghevesebb vitái arról szóltak, hogy miként lehetne elkerülni a határellenőrzés visszaállítását a Brexit után, tekintettel arra, hogy ez a határszakasz az Egyesült Királyság és az Európai Unió egyetlen szárazföldi vámhatára.
Tavaly karácsonykor, számos sikertelen forduló után megállapodás született erről is. A kérdés azonban változatlanul komoly konfliktusforrás az észak-írországi és a brit kormány, valamint az észak-írországi felekezetek között, tekintettel arra, hogy az egyezmény alapján gyakorlatilag Nagy-Britannia és Észak-Írország között, az Ír-tengeren jött létre részleges belső vámhatár.
Ennek célja éppen az, hogy az áruforgalmat ne Észak-Írország és az Ír Köztársaság határán kelljen ellenőrizni, ám ezt a megoldást az unionista oldal súlyosan bírálja, azzal az érvvel, hogy ez kikezdi Észak-Írország integráns helyzetét az Egyesült Királyságon belül.

Évek óta nem tapasztalt súlyosságú összecsapások törtek ki csütörtökre virradó éjjel Észak-Írországban. A zavargások miatt csütörtökön rendkívüli ülésre hívták össze a húsvéti szünetét töltő belfasti parlamentet.
Az észak-írországi közgyűlés sürgősségi ülése előtt Belfast utcáin újra folytatódott az erőszak, elloptak és felgyújtottak egy buszt, valamint egy fotóst is megtámadtak. Több mint 40 rendőr sérült meg.
A rendőrség szerint a buszt molotovkoktélokkal dobálták meg a nyugat-belfasti Lanark Way és a Shankill Road találkozásánál, miközben köveket dobáltak a tisztekre, és a közelben egy sajtófotóst is bántalmaztak. A zavargásban 500 fő vett részt.
A szerda esti jelenteket az EU-Brexit megállapodás, az észak-ír protokoll, illetve a Bobby Storey temetésén történt állítólagos jogsértések miatt törtek ki.
Hónapok óta nagy a feszültség a brexit miatt, amely kereskedelmi határt létesít az Ír-tengeren.
Boris Johnson miniszterelnök elítélte az erőszakot. A Twitteren a következőket írta:
Mélységesen aggasztanak az észak-írországi erőszakos megmozdulások. A nézeteltérések megoldásának módja a párbeszéd, nem pedig az erőszak vagy a bűncselekmény.
Simon Byrne, az észak-ír rendőrség (PSNI) főnöke a Twitteren közölte: A folyamatos utcai rendbontásnak le kell állnia.
A Translink busztársaság vezérigazgatója szerint a sofőr nem sérült meg. Elmondta, hogy az incidens előtt minden utas leszállt a buszról, és hogy a környéken minden szolgáltatást felfüggesztettek.
