Egy viadalról szökött meg és két embert öklelt fel egy féltonnás harci bika, melyet ezután állítólag halálra gázoltak egy közép-spanyolországi faluban, az ügyben a rendőrség nyomoz.
Az incidens vasárnap történt a 2400 főt számláló Brihuegában, ahol a helyi bikaviadal-arénában concurso de recortadorest rendeztek, amely során a résztvevők ugrálnak, forognak és egyéb mutatványokat hajtanak végre a bika körül annak reményében, hogy elnyerik „az aréna legbátrabbjának” címét – olvasható a The Guardian című brit napilap online kiadásában.
Az eseményről készített felvételen látszik, ahogy a viadal utolsó bikája, Campanito célba veszi az aréna ajtajait, majd kifut a falu szűk utcáira, nyomában az őt üldöző, legalább tucatnyi emberrel, köztük az esemény szervezőivel.
Két embert, egy 73 éves és egy 64 éves férfit felölkelt az állat az utcán. Mindkét férfit kórházba szállították, egyikük kisebb sérüléseket szenvedett, a másik állapota stabil. A helyiek úgy döntöttek, hogy közbelépnek és egy járművel mennek neki az állatnak.
„Addig csapódtak az autóval a bikának, amíg az el nem pusztult” – mondta el egy helyi lakos az eldiario.es internetes lapnak. Egy felvételen látszik, ahogy a bika az egyik utcán kószál, és egy autó mögötte felgyorsít, mielőtt nekicsapódik.
A spanyol csendőrség, a Guardia Civil hétfőn közölte, hogy azonosította a jármű vezetőjét, és jelenleg azt próbálja tisztázni, mi is történt pontosan. A csendőrség szóvivője szerint eddig senkit nem tartóztattak le vagy vettek őrizetbe az üggyel kapcsolatban, a nyomozás még tart.
A Brihuegában történtek heves reakciókat váltottak ki az állatvédő csoportok és a bikaviadalok támogatói részéről egyaránt szerte Spanyolországban.
„Szégyenletes és borzalmas képsorok Brihuegából” – írta a Twitteren Sergio Torres, a spanyol kormány állatvédelmi bizottságának vezetője, hozzátéve, hogy a történtekért súlyosan bűnhődniük kellene a felelősöknek, és az ehhez hasonló eseményeket be kellene tiltani, hogy ne hozzák többé szégyenbe az országot.
Az AnimaNaturalis állatvédő szervezet bíróságra akarja vinni az általa állatkínzásnak nevezett ügyet.
„Campanito egyetlen vétke az volt, hogy úgy cselekedett, ahogy bármelyikünk tette volna az ő helyében” – húzta alá közleményében Aida Gascón, a szervezet munkatársa, a bika arénából való kiszökésére utalva.
A guadalajarai bikaviadal-egyesület ugyanakkor dicsérte a falulakók közbelépését, amivel megakadályozták az állatot, hogy a település más területeire is eljusson, ahol nagyobb tragédia is történhetett volna.
