Az orosz csapatok a kanyivi vízerőművet próbálják bevenni a Dnyeper (Dnyipro) folyón, 150 kilométerre délre Kijevtől – közölte vasárnapra virradóra az ukrán vezérkar.
Az orosz csapatok a hadművelet eddigi menete során az ukrán energetikai infrastruktúra számos létesítményét semmisítették meg, támadták meg, vagy foglalták el. Az orosz ellenőrzés alá vont létesítmények közé tartozik a zaporizzsjai atomerőmű, amely a teljes ukrajnai áramtermelés mintegy ötödét biztosítja.
Az ukrán vezérkari jelentés szerint az orosz erők nem próbálkoztak meg Kijev délnyugati külkerületeibe betörni. A fővárosban azonban vasárnapra virradóra többször is légiriadót rendeltek el. Az orosz csapatok mindemellett a Kijev környéki Brovari települést a Boriszpili nemzetközi repülőtérrel összekötő autópálya felé próbálnak előre törni.
A Kijevtől mintegy hetven kilométerre északkeletre lévő Kozelec település térségéből is orosz csapatmozgásokat jelentettek.
Az orosz csapásmérő erők fő célja továbbra is Kijev, a keleti Harkiv és a déli Mikolajiv városok körülzárása.
Az ENSZ legfrissebb összesítése szerint 351 civil vesztette életét és 707-en sebesültek meg az orosz hadművelet február 24-i kezdete óta. Az áldozatok tényleges száma ugyanakkor ennél jóval magasabb lehet, tekintettel arra, hogy a világszervezet csak független forrásból származó, ellenőrizhető adatokat tesz közzé.
Az UNIAN ukrán hírügynökség szombati közlése szerint csak Harkiv megyében a harcok kitörése óta 194 ember vesztette életét, köztük 124 civil. A DPA német hírügynökség kiemelte, hogy ezt az adatot egyelőre nem lehetett független forrásból ellenőrizni.
David Arahamija, aki az ukrán delegációt vezeti az orosz–ukrán tűzszüneti tárgyalásokon, vasárnapra virradóra Facebook-oldalán arról írt, hogy a nap folyamán humanitárius folyosót nyithatnak Harkiv városába. A tárgyalások harmadik fordulója várhatóan hétfőn folytatódik.
