„Az illetékes miniszterekkel és szolgálatokkal folytatott konzultációt követően utasítást adtam a természeti katasztrófa állapotának bevezetéséről szóló minisztertanácsi rendelet előkészítésére” – írta Tusk az X-en.

A katasztrófaállapot nagyobb kontrollt biztosít a kormánynak a katasztrófa hatásainak leküzdésére és megoldására, ami bizonyos szabadságjogok korlátozásával járhat.
A rendelet azt is lehetővé teszi a lengyel kormány számára, hogy az Európai Unió RescEU-mechanizmusán keresztül pénzt és forrásokat mozgósítson, többek között repülőgépeket, helikoptereket, mobilkórházakat, a közlekedést és az energiaellátást segítő lehetőségeket is igénybe vegyen.

Filipe Nyusi mozambiki elnök a helyi televízióban közvetített beszédében elmondta, hogy már mintegy negyvenezer embert érint az ítéletidő, amely eddig nyolc ember életét követelte.

A szivárgás veszélye pedig napról napra egyre nagyobb, friss modellezések szerint pedig ez nem csak Jemen, hanem Szaúd-Arábia, Eritrea és Dzsibuti számára is ökológiai katasztrófát hozna. Ez pedig mondani sem kell, több millió dolláros károkat okozna az érintett országoknak.

Ezen a napon megbízta Viktor Abramcsenko kormányfő-helyettest, hogy folyamatosan tartsa ellenőrzése alatt az erdőtüzek elleni küzdelemmel kapcsolatos döntések végrehajtását.
Abramcsenko beszámolt a konferencián arról, hogy az erdőtüzek mintegy 80 százaléka a Távol-keleti szövetségi körzetben van. Országos szinten jelen pillanatban 155 erdőtűz oltásán fáradoznak 33 ezer hektáron 19 szubjektumban. Köszönetet mondott Misusztyinnak, hogy operatív költségek fedezésére pótlólagosan 2,6 milliárd rubelt (mintegy 360 millió dollárt) utalt ki a kormány.
Hírügynökségi jelentések beszámolnak arról, hogy különösen heves erejű tüzek ritkítják az erdőket Hanti- és Manysiföld autonóm körzetben több mint 14 ezer hektáron, a 19 helyszínen pusztító lángokat hét helyen, csaknem 7700 hektáron sikerült megfékezni. A tüzek keletkezésének legfőbb oka e beszámolók szerint a villámcsapásokban keresendő, akárcsak abban, hogy a lakosok sokszor megsértik a tűzrakási szabályokat.
Ugyancsak nehézséggel küzdenek a Baskír Köztársaságban (Baskíria), ahol nincs elegendő tűzoltó, a géppark nagy része is elavult.
A Greenpeace Russia környezetvédő szervezet műholdas adatokra hivatkozva rendkívül riasztó képet fest az oroszországi erdőtüzekről. Mint hétfői közleményükben állították, az oroszországi erdőtüzek kiterjedése (19 millió hektár) nagyobb, mint Görögország egész területe több mint 13 millió hektár). A szervezet szerint a lángok elharapózása elsősorban a hőhullámoknak, a folyópartok menti tábortüzeknek, a permafroszt (tartósan fagyott föld) időnkénti felolvadásából eredő olajszivárgásnak tulajdonítható. Felhívják a figyelmet, hogy a legvészesebb helyzet több olyan városban is keseríti az emberek életét, mint Jakutszk, Jugorszk vagy Szovjetszki.
A környezetvédő szervezet úgy véli, hogy az orosz kormány tétlen a jelenlegi katasztrofális helyzet kezelésében.
