A japán rendőrség elfogta azt a férfit, aki megkéselt pénteken tíz embert egy helyi érdekű vasútjáraton – közölte szombaton a rendőrség.
Az ámokfutó, egy 36 éves férfi, találomra választotta ki áldozatait. A rendőrség közlése szerint „boldognak tűnő nőket” akart megölni. A támadó azonban rájött, hogy a bolt már zárva, ezért ült föl késsel egy vonatra, és csak miután megszúrta a mellette ülő nőt, jött rá, hogy képes lenne akár több embert is megölni a vonaton. Szemtanúk szerint az egyik kocsiban étolajat öntött a padlóra, és megpróbálta meggyújtani.
Végül néhány órával az eset után besétált egy boltba, és elmondta, hogy ő az ámokfutó. A boltos azonnal hívta a rendőrséget, miután látta, hogy a férfinak véres a ruházata.
Japánban az elmúlt években több, halálos kimenetelű késes ámokfutás is történt. 2019-ben Tokió közelében egy férfi mindkét kezében késsel támadt iskolás lányokra egy buszmegállóban, és két embert megölt, 17 másikat megsebesített, mielőtt végzett magával.
