A BBC által feltárt bizonyítékok szerint londoni bűnbandák csábítanak be akár 14 éves, veszélyeztetett nőket és lányokat a kényszerített szex világába. Az áldozatok közül néhányan elmondták, hogy több férfi is megerőszakolta őket „fizetségként” a kifizetetlen drogtartozásokért, amelyeket az őket irányító bandák halmoztak fel.
Egy londoni rendőrtiszt azt mondta, hogy a fiatal lányok és nők a bandák „legalacsonyabb szintjét” képviselik, bántalmazzák és kihasználják őket.
„Nem gondoltam, hogy áldozat vagyok” – mondta ez egyik érintett, Kelly (ez természetesen nem az igazi neve) aki arról számolt be, hogy három férfi által került bandákhoz. Eleinte drogkereskedelemre kényszerítették, majd később a kizsákmányolás szexuális jellegű lett. „Nem éreztem, hogy kihasználnak, csak később jöttem rá, hogy manipuláltak” – mondta a fiatal lány.
John Knox nyomozóőrmester, a Londoni Rendőrség gyermekek kizsákmányolásáért felelős csapatának vezetője szerint a lányok a „legalacsonyabb szinten” állnak, és nem mondhatnak nemet a szexre.
„A bandák világában a lányok a legalsóbb szinten állnak, és azt kell tenniük, amit mondanak nekik. Ez magában foglalja a szexuális kizsákmányolást is” – fogalmazott, hozzátéve: a bűnbandák elsősorban és jellemzően nem szexuális célokra zsákmányolták ki a fiatalkorúak. „A lányokat mindenre […] kizsákmányolják – beleértve a szexet is” – mondta.
Knox úgy véli, hogy a dél-londoni körzetben legalább 60 gyermeket kizsákmányoltak ezek a bűnbandák. Elmondta, hogy a lányok ezek a lányok 13-15 évesek.
