A Cessna Caravan típusú repülőgép az ukundai Diani repülőtérről indult a turisták körében népszerű Maasai Mara nemzeti parkhoz, de a felszállás után röviddel – a repülőtértől mintegy 40 kilométerre, egy erdős területen – lezuhant és kigyulladt.
A kenyai polgári légiközlekedési hatóság közölte, hogy a repülő fedélzetén 12 ember volt, közülük nyolcan magyar állampolgárok, ketten németek voltak, és velük tartott egy kétfős kenyai személyzet is.
Hozzátették, hogy vizsgálatot indítottak a baleset okainak feltárására.
A hatóságok tájékoztatása szerint a repülőgép néhány perccel a felszállás után a földnek csapódott, majd lángba borult, a helyszínen csak a kiégett roncsokat találtak.
Szemtanúi beszámolók szerint a helyszínen egy óriási robbanás hallatszott, és a repülőhöz érve már felismerhetetlenségig megégett emberi maradványokat találtak.

A Románok Egyesüléséért Szövetség (AUR) párt egyik önkormányzati képviselője, Marian Jan Chirita vezette azt a kisrepülőgépet, amely lezuhant szombaton Jászvásár közelében.
Lezuhant egy kisrepülőgép Jászvásár közelében szombat délután, két férfi sérült meg, egyikük súlyos koponya- és égési sérüléseket szenvedett. A gépet az AUR egyik önkormányzati képviselője, Marian Jan Chirita vezette. A baleset egy erdős katonai területen történt, tűz keletkezett, de katonai létesítményeket nem érintett. A hivatalos vizsgálat szerint a tragédia műszaki hiba miatt következhetett be – számolt be az erdélyi Krónika hírportál.
A lasi megyei katasztrófavédelmi felügyelőség szóvivője, Georgica Onofreiasa elmondta, hogy a kiérkező mentők két embert láttak el a helyszínen, akik eszméletüknél voltak, a sérülteket kórházba vitték.
Egy 55 és egy 51 éves férfi sérült meg a balesetben.
Egyikük koponyasérülést, harmad- és negyedfokú, valamint másod- és harmadfokú égési sérüléseket szenvedett a mellkasán, a hasán és a lábán, míg másikuk mellkasi-hasi zúzódásokat.
Mivel a gép katonai területre zuhant, a román hadsereg is közleményt adott ki az esettel kapcsolatban. Közleményük szerint a gép egy erdős területen zuhant le, és tüzet is okozott a térségben, de nem okozott sérüléseket katonai épületekben vagy infrastruktúrában.

Két halálos áldozata és 19 sérültje van a csütörtökön a kaliforniai Fullertonban történt légiszerencsétlenségnek, amelyet az okozott, hogy egy kisrepülő a felszállást követően egy bútorkárpit-készítő üzemre zuhant – közölte a helyi rendőrség.
A rendőrségi közlemény szerint a két személy, aki életét vesztette, a repülőn tartózkodott, a sérültek pedig az épületben, ahol mintegy kétszázan dolgoztak.
A sérültek közül 11-et kellett kórházba szállítani, a többieket a helyszínen látták el.
A repülő kora délután, alig két perccel az Orange megyében lévő fullertoni repülőtérről való felszállása után zuhant az üzemre. A baleset Disneylandtől mintegy tíz kilométerre történt a repülési útvonalakat figyelő FlightAware internetes honlap szerint.
Az üzemmel szemben lévő másik műhely biztonsági kameráinak felvételén látszik, hogy a kisgép oldalára fordulva zuhan a tetőn át az épületbe, majd felrobban és fekete füst száll fel. A fullertoni rendőrség szóvivője elmondta, hogy a helyszínre érkezett tűzoltók fékezték meg a lángokat, és a környező vállalkozások épületeit is kiürítették.
