A lövöldözésben megsérült három kamaszt – egy 15 és egy 11 éves fiút, valamint egy 15 éves lányt – kórházba szállították, állapotukról egyelőre további információt a hatóságok nem szolgáltattak.
A bűncselekmény szombaton öt óra tájban következett be, amikor a külvárosi lakóparknál két, fegyveres, egymással viszálykodó csoport találkozott; ekkor dördültek el a végzetes lövések, amelyek kioltották két fiatal életét.
Charles Hampton Jr. rendőrfőnök-helyettes közölte: „Nagyon szomorú vagyok, hogy lövöldözésbe keveredett kamaszokról kell beszéljek. Megkérjük a szülőket, mindig tudjanak róla, merre járnak a gyerekeik, és ellenőrizzék a szobáikat, ugyanis túl sok fegyver van kamaszok kezében”.
A rendőrtiszt emlékeztetett arra is, hogy az év ezen időszaka a közelgő karácsonyról szól, ám most két család ehelyett temetni készül halott gyermekeit.
