A cég engedély nélkül ideiglenesen reexportálta az USA-ban gyártott repülőgépeket Oroszországba, és ezzel megsértette a légiközlekedési áruk exportellenőrzését. A cég az egyezségi megállapodás részeként elismerte a jogsértést, együttműködött és segített a nyomozásban.

Számos légitársaság útvonal módosítást jelentett be, hogy elkerülje Afganisztán légterét, miután a tálibok ellenőrzésük alá vették a kabuli Elnöki palotát, számolt be az RBK-Ukrajini a Reutersre hivatkozva.
Ezt a döntést hozták meg többek között a United Airlines (UAL.O), a British Airways és a Virgin Atlantic légitársaságok.
„A légitársaságok jobban odafigyelnek a konfliktusövezetek feletti repülés kockázatára, miután az elmúlt években két halálos kimenetelű incidens történt a föld-levegő rakéta alkalmazásával” – áll a közleményben.
A Malaysia Airlines repülőgépét 2014-ben lőtték le Kelet-Ukrajna felett, 298 személy vesztette életét, 2020-ban pedig az iráni hadsereg lelőtte Ukrajna Nemzetközi Légitársasága gépét, aminek eredményeként mind a 176 utas és a személyzet maghalt.
Ezen kívül olyan országok, mint Kanada, az Egyesült Királyság, Németország és Franciaország konzultáltak azon légitársaságaikkal, amelyek nem kevesebb, mint 25 000 láb (7,2 km) magasságban repülnek Afganisztán felett.
A Korean Airlines közlése szerint egyes teherszállító járatai jelenleg is használják az afgán légteret.
Afganisztánban a lakosság kétségbeesetten rohamozza meg a repülőgépeket.

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) egyik járata Torontóból Lahorba indulásakor, a személyzet egyik tagja azonban nem jelent meg. Hasonló eset történt már 2020 júliusában is, szintén Torontóban, amikor egy Yasir nevű utaskísérő tűnt el a szállodából.
Amikor a légitársaság felhívta az alkalmazottat, ő azt mondta, egy másik városban van, majd elérhetetlenné vált. A PIA akkor azt mondta, vizsgálatot indított az ügyben, és meg fogja tenni a megfelelő lépéseket, de azóta nincsenek újabb hírek az eset kapcsán.

Az Easyjet május 26-ig minden érintett ügyféllel felveszi a kapcsolatot. A BBC brit műsorszolgáltató úgy tudja, hogy a légitársaság már januárban felfigyelt egy esetleges támadás jeleire. Két bennfentes forrás szerint kínai hackerek követték el a kifinomult támadást, akik számlájára több hasonló adatlopás írható.
A brit információs biztos hivatala kedden közölte, hogy vizsgálja az ügyet, és arra kérte az érintetteket, hogy legyenek a szokásosnál is óvatosabbak az adathalász és zsaroló e-mailekkel.
Az elmúlt években több vállalat vált hackertámadás áldozatává, és emberek millióinak adatai kerültek illetéktelen kezekbe. A rekordot a Yahoo amerikai internetes tartalomszolgáltató tartja.
A cég hárommilliárd felhasználójának adatait lopták el 2013-ban, többségében neveket, e-mail-címeket, telefonszámokat és jelszavakat. 2018-ban a Marriott szállodalánc vált támadás áldozatává: egyik alvállalata, a Starwood biztonsági hiányosságai miatt 383 millió vendég adatai kerültek illetéktelenekhez, köztük több mint ötmillió kódolatlan útlevélszám.
Az amerikai hatóságok kínai hackereket sejtenek a támadás mögött, és aláhúzták, hogy ezek az adatok akár a titkosszolgálatoknak is érdekesek lehetnek. 2014-ben az eBay 145 millió vásárlójának adatait lopták el, köztük e-mail-címeket, lakcímeket és bejelentkezési információkat.
A légitársaságok is gyakran kerülnek a hackerek célkeresztjébe: 2018-ban a British Airways 380 ezer utasának nevei, lakcímei és hitelkártyaadatai kerültek illetéktelen kezekbe.
