Az ANA görög hírügynökség úgy tudja, a hajó – amely Leszbosztól mintegy 8 kilométerre délnyugatra süllyedt el – Egyiptomból indult, úticélja Isztambul volt, és sót szállított.
A legénység között két szíriai, négy indiai és nyolc egyiptomi állampolgár is van – tette hozzá az ANA.

A görög partiőrség 18 bevándorlót mentett ki az Égei-tengerből, még Törökország parti vizein.
Legkevesebb négy ember meghalt hétfőn az Égei-tengeren a Görögországhoz tartozó Leszbosz közelében, miután elsüllyedt egy bevándorlókat szállító hajó.
A görög partiőrség egységei 18 embert ki tudtak menteni a vízből, őket Leszbosz fő kikötőjébe, Mitilínibe szállították. A hatóságok szerint a hajó még Törökország parti vizeiben tartózkodott, amikor bajba került, de a török partiőrség nem küldött hajókat a segítségére, ezért szerveztek végül a görögök mentőakciót.
A Törökország partjaitól mindössze néhány kilométerre fekvő görög szigetek az Ázsiából az Európai Unióba irányuló migráció kiemelt célpontjai. Az elmúlt egy hétben több mint négyszáz bevándorlót mentett ki a görög partiőrség a térségben a vízen hánykolódó hajókról.

A hegyi erdőkben keletkezett tüzek pusztítottak a görögországi Leszbosz szigetén a Vatera nevű nyaralóhely tengerparti házai között szombaton. A görög hatóságok elrendelték sziget déli részén fekvő, nyolc kilométer hosszú homokos tengerparttal rendelkező népszerű nyaralóhely kiürítését, mivel az erdőtüzek az erős, forró szél miatt veszélyes közelségbe kerültek.
„A házak megmentéséért küzdünk” – nyilatkozta Taxiarkisz Verrosz nyugat-leszboszi polgármester az egyik helyi televíziónak.
Több épület is leégett és egy tűzoltó megsérült, amikor a lángok elérték Vaterát.
Görögország idén már a második, egymást követő nyáron küzd veszélyes erdőtüzekkel.
A hét elején az Athén körüli hegyekben keletkezett erdőtűz házakat rongált meg, és több száz embernek kellett elmenekülnie otthonából.
A görög hatóságok szerint az idei nyár az egyik legforróbb és legkeményebb a Földközi-tenger térségében.
2021-ben az erdőtüzek mintegy 121 ezer hektárnyi erdős és bozótos területet égettek fel Görögország szerte a délkelet-európai országban 30 éve tapasztalt legforróbb nyári hőhullám közepette.

Leszboszon a rendőrség szombaton könnygázt vetett be a szigetet elhagyni akaró migránsok ellen, ahol eközben a leégett Moria tábort felváltó menekültszállások építését is megkezdték.
Helyszíni beszámolók szerint több száz ember indult meg Mitilíni kikötője felé, az úton a rendőrség torlaszokat állított fel.
A migránsok a rendőröket kövekkel dobálták meg. A görög kormány pénteken erősítette meg a leszboszi rendőrséget, miután a napokban fokozódott a feszültség a moriai regisztrációs központ leégése miatt.
A tábor megsemmisülése óta zűrzavar uralkodik a szigeten, az eddig a túlzsúfolt központban élő több mint 12 ezer, zömében afrikai és afgán migráns több napja alszik a szabad ég alatt.
A rendőrség megerősítésének másik oka a feldühödött helyiek tiltakozása, akik közül sokan jelezték: a tábor leégése után nem akarnak több migránst látni a szigeten. Aggodalomra ad okot az is, hogy legalább 35 táborlakónak pozitív lett a koronavírustesztje. A helyiek attól tartanak, hogy elszabadulhat a vírus a szigeten, orvosok pedig arra hívták fel a figyelmet, hogy a tábor leégése óta az egykori lakók még a korábbinál is rosszabb higiéniai körülmények közé kerültek, kiemelve, hogy sokuk napok óta nem jutott vízhez sem.
A tűzvészt követően több kormány is jelezte, hogy befogad menedékkérőket, köztük gyerekeket is.
Eközben a görög hatóságok új táborok építését rendelték el, ám A szigeten rekedt migránsok azt követelik, engedjék el őket leszboszról. Beszámolók szerint tüntetések alakultak ki a táborhelyek kialakítására érkezett munkagépek mellett is.
A görög bevándorlási és menekültügyi minisztérium szóvivője, Alekszandrosz Ravagasz újságíróknak azt mondta, szombaton megkezdték az építkezéseket.

За описом дівчини, зловмисник був у темному спортивному костюмі, масці та рукавичках. Йдеться про 29-річного жителя села Розівка Ужгородського району та 40-річного мешканця обласного центру Закарпаття. Обидва неодноразово судимі за вчинення майнових злочинів. Több tűz is kiütött szerdára virradóra a Leszbosz szigetén található Moria menekülttáborban Görögországban.
Helyi sajtójelentések szerint több lakókonténer kigyulladt, ami miatt a hatóságok elrendelték a létesítmény kiürítését. Az ERT közszolgálati rádió tudósítása szerint időközben már majdnem mindenkit evakuáltak a szinte teljesen lángokban álló táborból. A tűzoltók munkáját hátráltatják az erős széllökések, amelyek tovább szítják a lángokat. A helyszínen tevékenykedő segélyszervezetek és önkéntes segítők a közösségi médiában arról adtak hírt, hogy egyes emberek menekülési útvonalát elzárta a tűz és az erős füst.
A tűz okairól egyelőre ellentmondásosak az értesülések, a tábor egyes lakói azt állítják, hogy a szigetlakók gyújtogattak, míg más információk szerint a menekültek okozták a tüzet, és aztán akadályozták a tűzoltók munkáját. A leszboszi tűzoltóságnak kedd este óta egy nagyszabású erdőtűzzel is meg kell birkóznia Moriától mintegy 25 kilométerre északnyugatra.
A létesítményt a múlt héten karantén alá helyezték, miután egyre több menedékkérő fertőződött meg a koronavírussal.

A Leszbosz szigetén
található moriai Hagios Georgios templomba ismeretlenek betörtek és
megrongálták a kegytárgyakat.
A Greek City Times szerint a közeli táborban élő illegális bevándorlók csoportja követte el a bűncselekményt, miután egy ötszáz fős csoport indult meg moriai táborból Mytilini kikötőjébe. A görög rendőrség útjukat állta, kisebb összecsapás is kialakult. Ezek után egy húsz fős csoport dúlta fel a templomot.
A bevándorlócsoportok folyamatosan lázadoznak. A túlzsúfolt
Moria Befogadó Központban borzalmasak az életkörülmények, ezért gyakran még
egymással is összecsapnak.
Az elmúlt fél évben közel húszezer migráns gyűlt össze a
szigeten, 40 százalékuk fiatalkorú. A
migránsoknak több mint fele él raklapokból és ponyvákból eszkábált sátrakban,
ahol nincs se áram, se elegendő víz.
A Szent Györgyről elnevezett kis templomban a vandálok
felborították a bútorokat, a szent ikonokat megszentségtelenítették. A helyi
lakosok szerint a közelmúltban Hagios Georgios-ba többször is betörtek a
migránsok.
Egész Görögországban, így Leszboszon is feszült a helyzet,
mivel mindennap ezrével próbálnak illegális bevándorlók bejutni az országba. A
napokban Recep Tayyip Erdogan török elnök bejelentette, hogy nem fogja többé
megfékezni az Európába tartó migránsokat. Azóta megsokszorozódott a nyomás a
görög-török határon. A görög határőrök napi szinten csapnak össze a köveket és
Molotov-koktélokat dobáló migránsokkal.
Leszbosziak egy csoportja megakadályozta, hogy egy civil
szervezet hajója kikössön a görögországi sziget Myitilini kikötőjében. A
rakparton összegyűlt tömeg sértegette a legénységet, és felszólította őket a
távozásra. A hajó elhagyta a kikötőt, és visszatért a nyílt tengerre – közölte az MTI.
