Tragikus esemény történt Mianmar Sagaing régiójában, ahol egy buddhista kolostor ellen végrehajtott bombatámadás következtében legalább 23 ember meghalt, köztük gyermekek is. A robbanás akkor következett be, amikor egy harci repülőgép bombát dobott az épületre, ahol a környékbeli falvakból menekülők tartózkodtak.
A támadásban további 30 ember megsebesült, közülük tíz súlyos állapotban van. Az áldozatok között csak civilek voltak, akik a térségben zajló háborús konfliktusok elől kerestek menedéket.
A hadsereg nem adott ki hivatalos közleményt, de korábban minden támadást „jogos háborús célpontként” próbált igazolni, az ellenállókat terroristáknak nevezve.
A támadás hátterében az állhat, hogy a katonai rezsim megpróbálja visszafoglalni az ellenállók által ellenőrzött területeket a közelgő választások előtt. A háborús helyzet tovább súlyosbodik, és az ellenzéki erőknek nincs eszközük a légi támadások kivédésére – írja az ABC News.

Kedden este Mianmar katonai erői tüzet nyitottak egy kínai Vöröskereszt-konvojra, amely földrengéssegélyeket szállított az ország legsúlyosabban érintett területére – közölte a BBC.
A Ta’ang Nemzeti Felszabadító Hadsereg (TNLA), egy helyi fegyveres lázadócsoport szerint a mianmari katonák géppuskákkal lőttek a segélykonvojra Shan állam keleti részén. A kilenc járműből álló segélyszállítmány Mandalay városába tartott, közel a múlt pénteki, 7,7-es erősségű földrengés epicentrumához.
Sérültekről nem érkezett jelentés.
A mianmari katonai vezetés vizsgálatot ígért az ügyben, de tagadta, hogy közvetlenül a járművekre lőttek volna. Állításuk szerint a katonák csak figyelmeztető lövéseket adtak le a levegőbe, miután a konvoj nem állt meg a korábbi felszólítás ellenére sem.
Kína külügyminisztériuma közleményben jelezte, hogy mentőcsapata és a segélyszállítmányok biztonságban vannak, és arra szólította fel Mianmar minden érintett csoportját, hogy a földrengés áldozatainak segítését helyezzék előtérbe.
A 2021-es katonai puccs óta Mianmart polgárháború sújtja. A múlt heti pusztító földrengés tovább súlyosbította az ország humanitárius válságát, a kormány becslése szerint már több mint 2700 ember vesztette életét, bár a tényleges áldozatok száma ennél is magasabb lehet.
Számos nemzetközi segélyszervezet és külföldi kormány küldött mentőszemélyzetet és segélyszállítmányokat a katasztrófa sújtotta térségekbe. A kínai Blue Sky mentőcsapat jelenleg Mandalayban dolgozik, ők biztonsági fedezetet kaptak ezen az útvonalon.
A mianmari hadsereg szóvivője szerint kedden este észlelték a Naungcho település felől érkező konvojt, amely kínai jelzésekkel és mianmari rendszámokkal volt ellátva, de előzetes értesítést nem kaptak a járművek mozgásáról.
„Amikor megláttuk a konvojt, megállítottuk, de továbbhaladtak. Körülbelül kétszáz méterről tüzet nyitottunk, de nem álltak meg” – mondta a szóvivő. „Amikor már nagyjából száz méterre voltak, három figyelmeztető lövést adtunk le a levegőbe, ekkor fordultak vissza Naungcho felé.”
A TNLA szerint azonban előzetesen értesítették a katonai vezetést a Mandalayba induló konvojról.
A lázadócsoportok egyoldalúan tűzszünetet hirdettek a földrengéssegélyezési erőfeszítések támogatására, a mianmari hadsereg azonban elutasította ezt.
A földrengés utáni órákban a junta légicsapást mért Naungcho településre, amely hét ember halálát okozta. Min Aung Hlaing katonai vezető kijelentette, hogy mivel az etnikai fegyveres csoportok továbbra is „támadásokra készülve kiképzéseket folytatnak”, a hadsereg folytatni fogja „szükséges védelmi műveleteit”.
Az ENSZ az air strike-okat „teljesen felháborítónak és elfogadhatatlannak” nevezte, és sürgette a mianmari feleket, hogy összpontosítsanak a földrengés áldozatainak megsegítésére a katonai konfliktus helyett.

A rengések olyan erősek voltak, hogy a szomszédos országok – Thaiföld és Kína – lakosai is érezték. 18 ember halálát erősítették meg Thaiföldön. Az ország fővárosában, Bangkokban még folynak a mentési munkálatok az egyik összedőlt többemeletes épületben.
Több tucat ember rekedhetett a romok alatt, a mentők pedig éjjel-nappal dolgoznak, hogy túlélőket találjanak.
A földrengés jelentős károkat okozott az infrastruktúrában az érintett régiókban. Több száz épület rombolódott le Mianmarban, köztük lakóépületek és közintézmények.
Emberek ezrei maradtak hajléktalanok, és sürgős segítségre szorulnak. A helyi hatóságok humanitárius segítségnyújtásra szólítják fel a nemzetközi közösséget a katasztrófa következményeinek leküzdéséhez.
Szakértők szerint ez az elmúlt évtizedek egyik legerősebb földrengése a régióban. Nagysága meghaladta a Richter-skála szerinti 7-es mutatót, epicentruma pedig a sűrűn lakott területek közelében volt.
Jelenleg folyik a vizsgálat a nagyszabású tragédia okainak megállapítása és a károk felmérésére az érintett területek további helyreállítása érdekében.

A mianmari földrengés hivatalosan megerősített halálos áldozatainak száma meghaladta az ezret – számolt be a hirado.hu az MTI nyomán.
A pusztító erejű pénteki rengésnek 1002 halálos áldozata és 2376 sérültje van, 30 embert pedig eltűntként tartanak nyilván – közölte a mianmari államigazgatási tanács információs csoportja szombaton.
Az amerikai földrengésfigyelő központ, az USGS becslése szerint az áldozatok száma több ezerre tehető. Az intézet attól tart, hogy több mint 10 ezer ember halhatott meg Mianmarban és a többi érintett régióban.
Az Egyesült Államok földtani intézete szerint 7,7-es erősségű földrengés volt pénteken Mianmar középső részén, az ország második legnagyobb városa, Mandalay közelében, 10 kilométeres mélységben. Az első rengést percekkel később egy 6,7-es erősségű utórengés követte. A rengéseket Thaiföldön, Kínában és Vietnamban is érezték.
Szombaton nemzetközi csapatok érkeztek Mianmarba, hogy segítsenek a mentési munkálatokban.
A thaiföldi meteorológiai szolgálat egy nappal a súlyos földrengés után további földmozgásokat is regisztrált. A 77 mért földmozgás többsége azonban, amelyek főként az északra szomszédos Mianmarban jelentkeztek, a jelentések szerint lényegesen gyengébb volt.
Az Európai Bizottság péntek este bejelentette, hogy a földrengés következményeinek jobb felmérése érdekében aktiválja a Copernicus műholdas szolgáltatást. Az EU emellett 2,5 millió eurós kezdeti gyorssegélyt is nyújt.
Kína 82 tagú mentőcsapatot indított a helyszínre az Air China egy charter járatával, akik mentőfelszereléseket visznek magukkal – közölte a vészhelyzet-kezelési minisztérium. A csapat a korábbi kínai segélyakciókat követi, egy 37 tagú mentőcsapatot, amely szombat reggel érkezett Mianmarba, valamint a szombat reggel útnak indult 16 kínai önkéntesből álló csoportot, amely vészhelyzeti segélycsomagokkal, áramfejlesztő és világító berendezésekkel, bontószerszámokkal felszerelve, öt járműből álló konvojban halad.
Az orosz állami hírügynökség, a TASZSZ szerint Moszkva két repülőgépet küldött 120 fős személyzettel, orvosokkal, keresőkutyákkal és felszereléssel.
India mentő- és egészségügyi csapatokat, valamint ellátmányt küldött Mianmarba – közölte Szubrahmanjam Dzsaishankar indiai külügyminiszter az X-en.
Malajzia külügyminisztériuma jelezte, hogy az ország szintén csapatokat küld a segélyezési erőfeszítések támogatására.
A földrengésnek Thaiföldön hivatalosan legalább három halálos áldozata volt, médiajelentések szerint azonban akár 10 ember is meghalhatott. Emellett több tucatnyi embert eltűntnek nyilvánítottak az egymillió lakosú Bangkokban.
Az epicentrumtól ezer kilométerre fekvő thaiföldi fővárosban szombaton fokozták a mentőakciót, hogy megtalálják a 33 emeletes, összedőlt torony romjai alatt rekedt építőmunkásokat.

Az amerikai szakértők legújabb, felülvizsgált becslése szerint a földrengés, amely több ázsiai országot is sújtott, akár több tízezer halálos áldozatot is követelhetett – számolt be a hirado.hu.
Ahogyan arról a korábban beszámoltunk, erős, 7,7-es földrengés rázta meg Mianmar középső térségét péntek délelőtt.
Az amerikai földtani intézet (USGS) először még azt közölte, hogy több ezer ember is életét veszthette a földrengések következtében Ázsiában.
Most azonban az USGS módosította a becslését, és azt mondta, hogy akár tízezrek is meghalhattak.
A friss becslésben az USGS nagyságrendileg 10 ezer és 100 ezer közé tette a lehetséges halálos áldozatok számát (ugyanakkor az némi bizakodásra adhat okot, hogy eddig ezeknél a számoknál nagyságrendileg jóval kevesebb megerősített halálesetről van tudomásunk).
A legfrissebb tájékoztatás szerint, amelyet 9:32-kor tettek közzé angol idő szerint, az amerikai kormányzati ügynökség arra figyelmeztetett, hogy „a térségben élő emberek olyan épületekben laknak, amelyek érzékenyek a földrengések rázkódásaira, bár vannak ellenállóbb szerkezetek is” – írta a Sky News.

Erős, az amerikai földtani intézet mérése szerint 7,7-es földrengés rázta meg Mianmar középső térségét péntek délelőtt. A rengést Thaiföldön is érezni lehetett, Bangkokban és a mianmari Jangonban számos épületből kimenekültek az emberek.
A rengés középpontja az amerikai intézet szerint 10 kilométer mélyen volt, a mianmari Mandalaj várostól 17 kilométerre. A 7,7-es erősségű földrengés igen erősnek számít, évente ilyen átlagosan 18 történik világszerte.
Áldozatokról egyelőre nem érkezett jelentés.
Thaiföldön Paetongtarn Sinavatra miniszterelnök rendkívüli megbeszélést hívott össze a rengés következményeinek megvitatására.
A bangkoki rendőrség közlése szerint egy épülőfélben lévő magas épület összeomlott a fővárosban, de egyelőre áldozatokról nem tudni.
A helyi The Sun azt írja, hogy 43 munkás tűnt el az összedőlt, eredetileg 30 emeletesre tervezett épület építkezésén.
A közösségi médiában terjedő videófelvételeken látható, amint a többemeletes épület – tetején egy daruval – leomlik, óriási porfelhőbe borítva a környéket.
Egy szemtanú, a Chiang Maiban élő Duangjai az AFP-nek elmondta: „Hallottam a rengést, éppen aludtam. Pizsamában rohantam ki az épületből.”

Több beszámoló szerint a rengés erőssége miatt még az épületek tetején lévő úszómedencékből is kiömlött a víz – írja a The Guardian cikke.

Az amnesztia alatt több fogvatartott börtönbüntetését is enyhítették, de nem tisztázták, hogy a rendelkezés a politikai foglyokat is érinti-e.
Paetongtarn Sinavatra, Thaiföld miniszterelnöke reményét fejezte ki, hogy az elengedendők között lesz az a négy thaiföldi halász is, akiket a mianmari haditengerészet novemberben vett őrizetbe, miután hajójuk állítólag belépett a mianmari felségvizekre.
Egy külön közleményből kiderült, hogy Min Aung Hlaing, a junta vezetője 15 évre csökkentette 144, korábban életfogytiglanra ítélt fogoly börtönbüntetését.

Mianmarban jelentősen emelkedett a Jagi szupertájfun okozta áradások és villámárvizek halottjainak száma, az állami televízió keddi beszámolója szerint már 226-an meghaltak, 77-en pedig eltűntek.
Az ENSZ Humanitárius Ügyek Koordinációs Hivatala (UNOCHA) szerint Mianmarban 631 ezer embert érintettek az áradások. A hivatalos adatok szerint a hónap elején Délkelet-Ázsiát sújtó Jagi szupertájfunt követő áradások és földcsuszamlások összesen több mint 500 ember halálát okozták Mianmarban, Vietnámban, Laoszban és Thaiföldön.
Az MRTV helyi adó szerint az áradások csaknem 260 ezer hektárnyi rizsföldet és más termést is elpusztítottak az országban, 26 700 lakóházat megrongáltak.
Kilenc régióban csaknem 400 segélytábort nyitottak. Az UNOCHA, amely arról számolt be, hogy sürgős szükség van élelmiszerre, ivóvízre, menedékre és ruházatra, azt közölte,
a kommunikációs vonalak leálltak, az utakat víz lepte el és hidak rongálódtak meg, ami súlyosan akadályozza a segélyezési erőfeszítéseket.
A rossz kommunikáció, különösen a távoli területekkel, szintén megnehezíti az esetleges áldozatokról szóló információ gyűjtését. Az országot 2011-ben és 2015-ben súlyos áradások sújtották, amelyek mindkétszer több mint 100 ember halálát okozták, míg 2008-ban a Nargis ciklon dühöngése idején több mint 138 ezer halt meg vagy tűnt el.
A junta vezetője, Min Aung Hlaing szombaton nemzetközi segítségre szólított fel az árvizek felszámolásához, ami kivételes lépés, mivel a burmai kormány a múltban inkább akadályozta a külföldről érkező humanitárius segélyeket. Eddig India az egyetlen ország, amely reagált, és tíz tonna segélyt küldött, többek között élelmiszereket, ruhákat és gyógyszereket. UNOCH szerint sürgősen további forrásokra van szükség.
