Párizsban akart eredetileg támadást elkövetni a nizzai Notre-Dame-bazilikában tavaly október 29-én végrehajtott három emberéletet követelő iszlamista merénylet tunéziai elkövetője – derült ki a dzsihadista telefonjában talált üzenetekből, amelyeket a BFM francia hírtelevízió tette közzé szerdán.
Rendőrségi források az AFP hírügynökségnek megerősítették, hogy a 22 éves Brahím Iszávi „eredetileg Párizsba akart menni, de nem maradt elég pénze”. A BFM hírtévé által közzétett üzenetek szerint az elkövető október 25-én azt írta egy barátjának SMS-ben Rómából: „Holnap elindulok Franciaországba, a hitetlenek és a kutyák hazájába”.
A férfi szeptember 19-én hajóval indult el Tunéziából, majd Olaszországon keresztül október 27-én este érkezett meg a dél-franciaországi Nizzába, ahonnan másnap azt írta: „Még Nizzában vagyok, oda akarok menni, ahol te vagy, az Eiffel-toronyhoz, de a jegy 150 euróba kerül”. Majd egy másik üzenetben megjegyezte: „A jegy túl drága. Itt vagyok, amíg Isten megsegít”. A dzsihadista két nappal később a Notre-Dame-bazilikában megölt két nőt és a sekrestyét, miután a tett helyszínén a rendőrség több lövéssel ártalmatlanította.
„Párizsban akart támadni. Nizza egy pótmegoldás volt, mert nem maradt több pénze” – mondta Samia Maktouf, az egyik áldozat családjának ügyvédje, aki egyébként kételkedik abban, hogy a férfi egyedül döntötte el, hogy az Eiffel-toronynál támad. Szerinte a tunéziait irányították. Azt is elmondta, hogy a dzsihadista „mindent vitat”, ami történt, és amnéziára hivatkozik.
Brahím Iszávit Nizzában válságos állapotban szállították kórházba a terrortámadást követően, majd november elején átszállították Párizsba, ahol miután az állapota javult, egy vizsgálóbíró kihallgatta, és vádat emeltek ellene terrotámadással összefüggésben gyilkosság és gyilkossági kísérletek miatt.
A nyomozás eddig nem állapította meg, hogy voltak segítői, vagy anyagi és ideológiai támogatói. „Azokat az embereket, akikkel kapcsolatba lépett Párizsban, kihallgatták, de nem gyanúsították meg őket” – jelezték nyomozati források.

Az olasz rendőrség a déli Caserta város közelében őrizetbe vette a 2016-os nizzai terrormerénylet elkövetőjének egyik bűntársát.
Mintegy öt évvel ezelőtt, 2016. július 14-én este Nizzában egy teherautós merénylő hajtott bele a tengerparti sétányon a nemzeti ünnepet lezáró tűzijátékot néző tömegbe. A tunéziai származású, 31 éves Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel járművével arra törekedett, hogy minél több embert halálra gázoljon.
A 86 emberéletet követelő merényletet- amelyben 206-an sérültek meg- az Iszlám Állam dzsihadista szervezet vállalta magára. Az elkövetővel a helyszínen végeztek.
A tunéziai terrorista bűntársát, Endri Elezit most fogták el az olasz hatóságok. A Corriere della Sera című napilap szerda esti beszámolója szerint a 28 éves albán Elezi látta el fegyverrel Bouhlelt.
Az albán férfit a francia hatóságok által kiadott európai elfogatóparancs alapján vették őrizetbe. A lap szerint az akció az olasz és francia nyomozóhatóságok közötti együttműködés keretében folytatott információcsere eredményeként valósulhatott meg.

Hét férfinak és egy nőnek kell a vizsgálóbírók döntése alapján a párizsi esküdtszék elé állnia a 86 halálos áldozattal járó, 2016-os nizzai gázolásos merénylet miatt – jelentették be kedden igazságügyi források.
A négy terrorelhárítási vizsgálóbíró a három fővádlottat (Mohamed Ghraieb, Chokri Chafroud és Ramzi Arefa) azzal gyanúsítja, hogy tudtak a készülő merényletről. A három tunéziait az ügyészség terrorista összeesküvéssel akarta meggyanúsítani, de a vizsgálóbírók arra hivatkozva ejtették ezt a vádpontot, hogy a gyanúsítottaknak nem volt pontos tudomásuk a merényletterv részleteiről, s azt sem tudták, hogy azt mikor akarta az elkövető végrehajtani. További öt embert, egy tunéziait és négy albánt azzal vádolnak, hogy tőlük vette a támadáshoz használt fegyvereket az egyik fővádlott. A gyanúsítottak közül négyen vannak előzetes letartóztatásban, ketten rendőri felügyelet alatt állnak, ketten pedig még szökésben vannak és elfogatóparancs van érvényben ellenük. A pert a források szerint legkorábban 2022-ben rendezhetik meg, a felperesek között 856 ember és szervezet szerepel.
